Full name: Tarron Gryffith
Age: 17
District: 9
Physical Description: Tarron has jet-black hair which is always unkempt except for when there is a reaping, when he styles it like seen in the photo. He has ashen irises which seems almost black, are surrounded by thick eyelashes and have sharp eyebrows above them. He's slightly short for his age, standing at just a little over 5'6". He is broad-shouldered and stocky, but with a very low fat percentage, and has large muscles. Tarron likes to keep a bit of stubble but has to shave for a reaping. His skin refuses to tan, (taking slightly after his albino grandfather), so it's an almost unhealthy pale shade.
He has a birthmark: an abstract scarlet line that unevenly spirals around his right forearm and elbow.
He typically wears only a pair of shorts, which is normal for harvesters. For the reapings, he used to wear his late older brother's clothes, but grew out of them.Personality: Tarron tends to be very quiet, mainly because he doesn't really have anything to say. He just can't be bothered with socialising. He's always disappearing, and this annoys everyone. Someone could be having a serious conversation with him and get distracted for just an instant, but by then he's long gone.
Although never having gone to school, Tarron is extremely clever, so much so that he outwitted a visitor from the Capitol who made fun of his group of workers-- but he was later punished for this.
He was taught to read and write by his grandfather, so he's not illiterate like most people in his district. He can sometimes be really stubborn; if he starts something, he won't stop until he's finished.Backstory: When Tarron was a year old, his parents and older brother were part of a small group of rebels. The Capitol found out about them and raided District 9, finding and killing the group.
Tarron obviously doesn't remember his family because he was too young. The only reason he didn't die was because his grandfather was babysitting him on the other side of the District (District 9 is one of the largest Districts too). For seven years, his grandfather looked after him.
At the age of 8, his grandfather died from food poisoning because he ate food that the Peacekeepers threw away, not knowing that they had laced it with warfarin and that it was intended for the rats.
Tarro was taken in by a group of harvesters and became one of them. He had to work 16-17 hours a day harvesting crops in the scorching heat. The workers from district 9 are amongst the most abused by the Capitol, and Tarron bears a reminder of this-- he has exactly 89 scars ranging from 4 - 15 inches long and countless smaller ones. In fact, nearly all of his skin is scar tissue (28% of his whole body including muscles and organs is scar tissue) save for his hands, his neck and most of his face-- except a long, thin scar that runs from his left temple down to just below the edge of his lip. Most of the scars come from the Peacekeepers' whips which were used often, even if he was working as hard as he could.
However, all the work has made him exceptionally strong and impressively proficient with a scythe, and all the punishment has given him an almost inhuman pain tolerance.Family:
Father- Soren Gryffith (DECEASED aged 45)
Mother- Talia Aron-Gryffith (DECEASED aged 45)
Grandfather- Sandor Gryffith (DECEASED aged 81)
Older brother- Tanner Gryffith (DECEASED aged 16)
Friend- Gareth Caren (DECEASED aged 16, in the HG bloodbath)Power Wished For: Tarron would like to have bone-manipulation. He'd like this as it would be a useful tool to use both in and out of combat. With it, he'd be able to change his bones' density to fit the environment's demands or use them as long/short range weapons.
If not, he'd like some form of spatio-lock/absolute defence and/or force-field manipulation, because he wouldn't mind not being hurt ever again.Weapon of Choice: Scythe.
Allies: River Dorian (District 4 Male) {Love-interest}
Tribute Token: His father's ring, a simple steel band with a fake onyx embedded in it. He's had it ever since his grandfather died.
Volunteer/Reaped: Tarron Volunteered.
Reason/Reaction: He believed he didn't have anything left to live for, and no longer wanted to live his terrible life anyway.
