The ride had been mostly silent, save for the occasional hum of Jeongguk's engine and the distant sounds of the city.

Taehyung's fingers twitched slightly where they rested on Jeongguk's waist—not that he had wanted to hold on, but the bastard drove like he had a death wish.

When they finally pulled to a stop, Taehyung blinked in confusion. "Where are we?" he asked, glancing around at the unfamiliar park.

Jeongguk climbed off the bike, running a hand through his hair before looking at Taehyung with a slightly smug—but also nervous—expression. "Just... come with me."

Taehyung didn't move. His stomach twisted, reality creeping in. His father would lose it if he found out he was out this late with Jeongguk.

Hell, he'd lose it just knowing Taehyung was with Jeongguk, period.

Jeongguk must've noticed his hesitation because his smirk faltered just slightly. "Scared of getting caught?" he asked, voice teasing but eyes cautious.

Taehyung scoffed, trying to act unbothered despite the anxiety gnawing at him. "No, I just don't trust you."

Jeongguk rolled his eyes. "Right, because I dragged you out here just to sell your organs on the black market."

Taehyung bit back a laugh, crossing his arms. "That's exactly the kind of thing you'd do."

Jeongguk smirked, stepping closer. "Well, you'll just have to take your chances, sweetheart."

Taehyung hated the way his stomach flipped at that. He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Fine. But if I die, I'm haunting you forever."

Jeongguk's grin widened. "Kinky."

Taehyung groaned. "I take it back. I should've just gone home."

"Too late," Jeongguk said, grabbing his wrist and tugging him forward. "No turning back now."

They walked through the quiet park, past softly swaying trees and a serene pond. Taehyung hesitated again, glancing at the scenery.

"You really brought me to a park?"

Jeongguk shrugged, looking somewhere past him. "Yeah. Used to come here when I needed to think."

Taehyung blinked. That was—unexpected. He had been bracing himself for a bar, a shady alley, maybe even a fight club. But this? This was peaceful. Almost... soft.

He turned to Jeongguk, watching as the younger man avoided his gaze, feigning indifference. "Huh," Taehyung murmured, stepping forward. "It's... nice."

Jeongguk exhaled, relieved. "Told you. And look at that—you're already less mad at me."

Taehyung scoffed, crossing his arms. "Don't get ahead of yourself, Jeon. You still owe me."

Jeongguk plopped onto the grass, stretching out like he owned the damn place. "Fine, fine. How about this—next time, I'll call before you start plotting my murder. Deal?"

Taehyung tried to hold his glare but failed. He let out a small laugh. "Deal. But you're not off the hook yet."

Jeongguk smirked, but there was something oddly nervous about it. "That's fine. I'll just have to keep making it up to you."

Taehyung felt his stomach flip. He quickly turned away, mumbling, "You better."

For a moment, neither of them spoke. The distant laughter of children, the rustling leaves, and the occasional chirp of crickets filled the silence between them.

Jeongguk was staring at the ground, absently tugging at the grass. Taehyung pretended not to notice how his knee bounced slightly—like he was restless.
