Chapter 12
I was sat in the back of the car, staring aimlessly out the window. My elbow propping my head up with my hand under my chin. The boys being themselves and starting conversations with each other; while on our way to their meeting.
Apparently Simon scheduled a meeting today with the boys, and I had to come. But according to Harry-and I quote-"They are long and boring. And Simon can be strict with his rules in the meeting room." Yeah so none of us were really expecting anything fun for this afternoon.
It seemed like we were in the car forever but it must have been only about 20 minutes. I listened to the radio that was playing at a low volume and the boys words, while looking out the window. The trees, buildings, and homes all smearing by as we road by. The low drown of other cars and the outside world, it all made me just stop and think. Stop and drift down the river into my thoughts. Listening now only to the little voice in my head and the memories playing back in my head, the thoughts and images; replaying.
But I was pulled right out of it, feeling the car come to a complete stop and Liam's voice sing "We're here!" We all shuffled out of the car and walked right into a building; Simons office building. Once inside I kept quiet as I followed the boys into a lift with Paul follow behind me. The boys continued to talk and scroll through their twitter feeds as the lift dinged at each floor. At exactly the 6th floor the doors opened and I followed them out and down the hall.
But I slowed to walk beside Paul, and looked up at him.
"Hey Paul.." I smiled
"Hey Sidney!" He smiled back nicely.
"Uh..do you know how long this is gonna take??" I asked looking up at him as we walked.
"Probably a few hours" he responded.
"Ugh, hey do you have any headphones?" I asked hopefully.
"Actually I do! You wanna use them?" He asked pulling them out of his pocket.
"Yes, please! Thank you!" I smiled taking them from his hand and untangling the skinny white cord.
"Welcome" he replied with a nod.
We walked into a room next that had a big, tan, wooden table that was long and had several black rolling chairs surrounding it. At the head of the table sat Simon, with his hands neatly folding on top.
"Good afternoon guys, good afternoon Sidney!" Simon nodded with a small smile.
"Good afternoon Uncle Si!" The boys replied in unison. And I smiled taking a seat on the end by Harry. When I looked around Paul was gone..hmm must have just left.
The boys all seemed to calm down as Simon or "Uncle Si" started to talk. I took out my phone-which I haven't used in forever, from my hoodie pocket and plugged in the now untangled headphones. I scrolled through till I found the song 'Ready or Not by Bridgit Mendler' and played it, putting it on shuffle. Then I sat and sang the words out in my head, not out loud.
After a few other songs came on I started to drift away. My head fell on Harry's shoulder and my eyelids were heavy. I finally decided not to fight my self to sleep, and relaxed and closed my eyes, listening to Little Things by the boys.
Harry's view
"Ok so tomorrow you guys have a interview and have to perform on the X-Factor; for Red Nose Day." Uncle Si continued to tell information that none of us would remember but Liam.
I turned my head to see Sidney still sleeping soundly on my shoulder. She had headphones in her ears and her phone laying across her stomach. I smiled then looked to Louis who was watching her across the table, closest to Uncle Si. He smiled back, looking at her like he was so proud to have such a kind and great daughter. So sweet and caring that she would put others before herself. One that she would rather listen then talk, and its the truth, I'm sure. And when she's sleeping, she's so innocent that you just want to hug her tight like a teddy bear.
