Maka stayed in her room all night and Soul was used to it. He figured she was curled up on her bed, like always, reading her book.
Soul on the other hand, was lying on the couch channel surfing. He couldn't find anything worth his time, so he decided to turn the TV off and just relax.
After who knows how long his legs fell asleep. Apart from that he started to feel cold.
He decided to go to bed and just sleep. There was no point in coming back to the living room if there was nothing on TV.
He stood up and felt a jolt of pain on his feet.
For one the floor was soooo cold and his sleeping feet didn't help his case.
As Soul entered his room he quickly undressed and changed into some pajama pants he had. He looked everywhere for his cozy sweatshirt. It was the one he always used when it was cold because it had long sleeves and was as soft as a cloud. He looked everywhere for his shirt with no luck.
He checked his closet, under his furniture, in the living room, in the laundry, in the bathroom...even in the kitchen.
After half an hour looking he decided it would be best to ask Maka since the only time she came out of her room was to eat or get laundry...or school.
He walked over to her door and knocked knowing that if he just walled in he'd get the Maka Chop of his life.
No answer. He tried again.
Still no answer.

He decided to take a risk and walked in. The room was hella dark so he could barely see anything. He was surprised though.

'I don't think Maka is reading...who the hell can read in total darkness?' he thought to himself

He moved over to where he thought was Maka's desk and felt around for her lamp.
Finally he found the lamp and it's switch to turn on.

He turned to face Maka's bed and smiled at the sight before him.

Maka had fallen asleep. She had her book on the night stand besides her bed and she was curled into a ball.
She was lying on top of her blankets and seemed to be cold.

It was obvious she would be. Her bed was right in front of the a/c and she was wearing nothing but shorts and.....and....soul's sweatshirt.

Soul sighed and lightly chuckeled. He had to admit she looked really cute in his shirt but he had to wake her....she looked so cold.

"Hey Maka? Maka? Come on wake up. You look like you're about to frezze to death." Soul said gently shaking her shoulders

Maka only shivered and mumbled something about purple pandas.

"Come on Maka...wake up..." Soul continued.
This time he was successful in waking his ash blonde Meister.

"Hmmm? Soul? What are you doing here? I was trying to sleep..." Maka said as she sat up in bed.

"Yeah I noticed. Sorry to wake you but I came to ask if you knew where my sweatshirt was...well not anymore I think I found it..." Soul said as he looked down at Maka.

Maka was a little confused and then recalled that she had taken his shirt. She was cold and reading a book under her covers was difficult. Her shirts though didn't really do much to help her from the cold.

"Sorry Soul I just got cold and well I was doing the laundry and I saw your shit and-" Maka was interrupted by Soul.
"Maka calm down. I'm not mad or anything I'm just cold..." Soul said

Maka had an idea but was a little shy to say it.

"Well I mean you could...just stay here with me. My body tempeture and heat will help keep you warm."
Soul was wide eyed by Maka's suggestion but obliged. He was not gonna turn down an opportunity to cuddle with his Meister so without another word Soul pulled the covers from underneath Maka and crawled in.
Maka didn't expect him to accept the offer so easily but she wasn't going to complain.

Soul, as eager as he was, kept thinking on how this might affect things...but well to say the least he just wanted to lie down next to Maka. He felt bold and grabbed Maka by her waist pulling her close. Maka was a bit surprised by the sudden contact but really couldn't complain. She just simply turned to face Soul and buried her face in his neck.
Maka took in his sent and just relaxed into his hold.
Now it was Souls turn to be surprised. He loved the proximity and tightened his grip not wanting to ever let go.

And that night was the warmest the two had had so far...
