Who was to say that rain was a bad thing?
Maka never understood how someone could ever hate the rain, it was just to magnificent! The feeling of little tiny cold bombs explode against your skin. The sensation of being closer to the Earth always won Maka over and made her act like a kid. She would always go outside and dance in the rain.
Her favorite nights were thunderstorm nights. She never missed the beautiful storm right outside her bedroom window.
Although she knew that people would think of her as crazy if they ever found out but, she loved the beauty in the destruction that sometimes followed the storm.
Soul on the other hand wasn't as big of a fan as Maka. Don't get him wrong he loved the way Maka's face lit up when it rained, and, although he would never admit it out loud, he loved watching her dance her little heart out on rainy days.

On a particularly stormy night Maka sat, wrapped in a blanket, in front of her window, watching, in awe, as the rays of lightning flashed before her eyes.
It was a late Friday night and Soul had been out with BlackStar doing god knows what, while Maka had decided to stay in and just enjoy the silence for once. No one could bother her. Liz, Patty and Kidd were on a mission. Tsubaki was off visiting an old friend. Blaire had gotten a boyfriend and moved out. Spirit had promised (more like was forced to) to stay away from the apartment for good. And Stein never stopped by. She was free to just sit alone and enjoy herself. And she did just that. When she first heard the soft pitter patter of rain drops against the glass windows she immediately looked up and rushed to the window. To her content jer theory of rain was correct so she sat and just watched as nature took its course. Maka sat for hours with her full attention on the rain until the light buzz of her phone distracted her.
"Hey, are you up?" Soul had texted her.
"Yeah, I'm watching the storm. Are you home? It looks heavy...you should stay at Star's place. Getting back on your motorcycle might not me safe," she sent.
Before turning off her phone screen she glanced at the time, and noticed it was 2:56 a.m. the storm had lasted almost five hours, and she sat through all of it.
At that point she realized how tired she actually was and started to make her way to her bed. As she rested her head on her pillow her phone buzzed, notifying her of a text message.
"Yeah I was gonna tell you that. I'm crashing here alright? Don't wait up for me and get some sleep; don't spend the whole night on a storm, okay? Goodnight, sweet dreams, sleepwell and I love you, bookworm."
Maka couldn't help but smile at the text. She loved Soul and she was grateful that he cared about her. Her mind began drifting off to Soul and how acted towards her on rainy days. She noticed that he was a lot more cautious with his words and decisions not only about himself but regarding her. He would sit and watch the storm with her. He would always bring her some hot chocolate and blankets when the storm would drag on. He did everything to make sure she was okay and comfortable, including waiting up for her to sleep.
"Yeah, I'm glad you're safe. Please be careful on your way home; I don't want you getting hurt. Goodnight, sleep tight and sweet dreams. I love you, Shark Boy."
She sent the message and put her phone to charge on her night stand. She dozed off to the steady sound of the rain out side think about how much she loved rainy days, but never as much as her Soul.
