With the party set to start, Natalie’s older brother: Matt, dropped Nat and me off at Laura's house.
Ashe pulled into the driveway, he turned to face his sister, a stern look across his face.
"Please don't drink too much tonight Nat…" He pleaded, looking over at his younger sister who was checking her hair in the reflection of the window.
"Sure, whatever Matt,” Nat replied, grabbing her things before slipping out of the car.
With a sigh, Matt turned to face me, his eyes showing the concern he had for his sister.
"Kendra, can you look after her?"
"Of course I will. Thanks for the ride Matt," I replied with a smile, my eyes meeting his for a brief second. My heart fluttered.
There is nothing hotter than a caring guy.
"No problem," he mumbled, placing both hands onto the steering wheel.
Exhaling, I climbed out of the car, waving goodbye to Matt before walking over to Nat, sighing with relief that I didn’t let Natalie force me into wearing a pair of atrociously high heels.
A cool breeze lingered in the afternoon air, blowing my hair into my eyes as I stood next to Nat.
"Let's go inside," Nat grinned, reaching forward to ring the doorbell. The door swung open and Natalie and I were greeted by Laura, a tray of shot glasses in her hands.
"Hey guys, you two look hot," she squealed, shoving the tray in our faces.
"Drink!" She demanded, her breath smelling of different alcoholic drinks.
Nat happily took one but I on the other hand, politely declined.
"I don't drink…" I muttered, moving further inside Laura’s house.
At that moment, I looked up to see Amy stumbling down the hall, a red cup in her hand, spilling as she moved closer with hasty steps.
"Did I hear someone say that they do not consume alcohol?!" She exclaimed, waving her arms about dramatically, sending her drink flying.
"How much have you had?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow up at her.
Amy didn't seem like the type who would have any interest in drinking.
"I have had..." She frowned slightly, trying to count with her fingers.
"I have had too much!" Amy giggled loudly, wrapping her arms around me, pressing her face to mine.
"You’re so pretty…" She mumbled with a giggle.

About an hour later people started arrive, the party now in full effect. By this point Natalie, Amy and Laura were all completely drunk.
Soon enough, nearly everyone around me was having trouble standing, their words slurred and movement impaired.
I couldn’t bear to be around these people. It brought on too many memories.
It had been a drunk driver who ran into my dad and killing him instantly.
After that, I promised myself to never touch anything alcohol related.
Frowning, I leant up against a wall, watching the groups of sweltering bodies grind against each other in a state of intoxication. I glanced over at Natalie, fulfilling her brother’s request. She was sitting with some guy who was in our grade.
