(Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson)

The party was loud, filled with the sounds of laughter, clinking glasses, and music pulsing through the air. Pernille Harder stood near the edge of the room, her gaze flickering across the space toward Magdalena Eriksson. They knew each other, of course they had played football together for years but their interactions had always been limited. A few words exchanged on the pitch, a lingering glance that neither of them fully acknowledged.

Magda was leaning against a wall, talking to some mutual friends, but every so often, her eyes found Pernille's. The air between them was thick with something unspoken.

After what felt like an eternity of stolen glances, Magda pushed off the wall and made her way toward the door leading outside. On impulse, Pernille followed.

The night air was crisp, a welcome relief from the heat inside. They walked side by side, the sounds of the party fading behind them. Their hands brushed once, twice until finally, Magda took Pernille's hand in her own, intertwining their fingers as they continued down the quiet street. Neither of them spoke. They didn't need to.

When they returned to the party, Pernille stopped just outside the door, tugging Magda gently back. "Stay after everyone leaves?" she asked, her voice soft but insistent.

Magda's lips curled into a small smile. "Of course." Then she turned back toward the house, extending her hand once more. "Are you coming?"

Pernille didn't hesitate this time. She took Magda's hand and followed her back inside.

The party continued, both of them drifting back to their friends, their drinks, their conversations. But through it all, they kept finding each other across the room, their gazes locking for a beat too long, the tension simmering beneath the surface.

As the night wound down and the last guests trickled out, Pernille found Magda again. This time, she didn't hesitate. She grabbed Magda's wrist and led her to her room.

"Here" Pernille tossed Magda a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. "For the movie."

Magda smiled as she pulled them on, then climbed into the bed beside Pernille. The movie played in the background, but neither of them was really watching. Magda reached for Pernille's hand, lacing their fingers together.

The air between them grew heavier, more charged. Magda turned her head, studying Pernille's face, then reached up, fingers gently gripping her chin. "Kiss me."

Pernille blinked, taken aback. "You're drunk."

Magda smirked. "So are you. Just kiss me."

Pernille hesitated for only a moment before leaning in, pressing a soft peck against Magda's lips. She started to pull away, but Magda wouldn't let her.

"Kiss me properly."

This time, Pernille didn't hesitate. She leaned back in, capturing Magda's lips in a deeper, more urgent kiss. Their breaths mingled, heavy and intoxicating, as they lost themselves in each other, the tension finally breaking into something undeniable.

Magda sighed against Pernille's lips, her fingers sliding into her hair, pulling her closer. The kiss deepened, slow and intoxicating, neither of them willing to break the moment. Pernille's hands settled at Magda's waist, fingers gripping the fabric of the hoodie she had lent her.

When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested together, breathless. Magda let out a small laugh, her fingers tracing soft circles against Pernille's arm. "I've wanted to do that for a long time."

Pernille exhaled, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Me too."

A comfortable silence settled between them, the movie still playing in the background, forgotten. Magda shifted closer, resting her head against Pernille's shoulder. "Can we stay like this for a while?"

Pernille squeezed her hand. "As long as you want."

And so they stayed, tangled together in the dim light, the weight of unspoken feelings finally lifted, replaced by something new something that felt like the beginning of everything.
