A few months had passed, and the green scenery had changed to deep hues of reds, oranges, and yellows as it was now November. It was quite chilly and a little gloomy out most days, but Vienne and Sebastian couldn't be happier.
As planned, they had left that judgmental little town and moved to a hamlet near the Hogwarts region, as Sebastian had just started his first semester as a professor teaching the students there back in September. He loved his job, and on top of that, he loved his wife even more.
That's right, they were finally married.
Before they left, they held a small ceremony attended by only Luis, Ominis, Rolf, Marie, Ceci, and Claudine. They were married and had never looked back since.
Vienne was loving her life so far. She was married to the man of her dreams, could come and go as she pleased, and was enjoying being free from the chains of the anxiety she had held for so long while living with her mother.
Speaking of her mother, Claudine and Vienne were on the road to reconciliation. It wouldn't happen overnight, but Vienne had decided to still keep in contact with her mother after leaving via owl. Something about staying in contact, but it still being her choice, felt oddly healing and made her heart not feel as heavy.
Back in town, things had definitely quieted down. And the worry about Ominis being alone had certainly diminished; Rolf had moved in with him not long after they had begun their relationship. They were happy and thriving, finding happiness in each other.
Edward was successfully put away for his crimes, and the Carters had quite a mess to clean up after this, and all the rest of their sons' antics came to light. Needless to say, they wouldn't be advocating for any more forced marriages any time soon.
Luis was also keen on spending as much time with his family as possible. They were already close before, but almost losing his life put it into perspective just how important they were to him.
Since getting married and moving, Sebastian and Vienne had been doing better than ever. Sebastian had really been enjoying his job teaching—he built strong relationships with his students and made learning enjoyable for them. They were engaged and hands-on in their learning, which made it all the more worthwhile.
They both had found their happy places, one of them being their home.
"Vienne, I'm home!" Sebastian called out as he hung his coat up in the doorway.
Vienne was already waiting for him with a smile on her face. "Hi, how was work?" She asked, walking up to him and wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
"It was great, even better now that I'm with you." Sebastian grinned, placing his hands on her hips.
"I missed you." She said, giving him a kiss.
"I missed you too." He murmured into it.
Vienne chuckled. "Now that you're home, we can just sit around all day with each other." She said, looking up at him, her chin resting on his chest.
"Sounds great." Sebastian hummed with a little grin.
Moments like this, even as simple as they were, made everything so worth it. All of those months of waiting and fighting for their relationship against all odds were all worth it. Time was healing things, and their relationship was growing. Everything was worth it.
And it would always, always be worth it.
A/n: Just a sweet, short conclusion :)
