"Where is my book?"

I stood frozen in front of Kakashi.

"I have no idea where your book is," I said with a calm voice. "Maybe you left it downstairs." I hoped that he would think he actually did leave it downstairs and then leave giving me enough time to change the hiding place.

"I don't think so," he said with a smirk. I froze. "I think you took it," he said as he walked into his room and right over to my bookshelf. I tensed. I had hid his books right behind mine.

"I didn't take your books Kakashi!" I shouted. He stood by the bookshelf with an evil smile on his face.

"Then how did you know that there was more than one book missing?" he said pretending to be curious. I quickly grabbed his books from behind the others and ran outside the house. I started toward the ramen shop and suddenly head a loud clashing sound behind me. I turned to see a boy and his VERY large dog standing awkwardly by a pile of pans next to the ramen shop. I inwardly chuckled and walked over to him.

"Hey," I said with a smile. The boy turned to me. He had dark brown hair and features that you wouldn't describe as human. He kinda had the eyes and teeth of a dog.

"Even with the doggish features he's cute," Mai called out in my head. I internally rolled my eyes at her.

"Hey," he said with a smile to match mine. I looked down at his dog who was sitting by his feet.

"Is he yours?" I asked deciding to make conversation. He was a bog white dog with large brown patches on his ears almost covering the entire outside of his ear.

"No shit sherlock," Mai mocked.

"Yeah," said the boy. I noticed that he smiled when he looked down at his dog. They were close I bet. "What's your name?" he asked me.

"I'm Hikari," I said with a smile. I glanced over my shoulder quickly to see if Kakashi was coming.

"I'm Kiba," he said again copying my smile. "And this is Akamaru," he said looking down at his dog. I felt a hand on my shoulder and whipped around to see Kakashi standing right behind me. I let out a yelp and jumped up, away from Kakashi and started sprinting.

"It was nice meeting you Kiba," I called back. I couldn't hear what he said but I asummed it had to do with me running away from Kakashi. I made it all the way up to the Hokage's office when I stopped. I knocked on the door and without waiting for a response I walked in."Hello Lady Hokage," I said bowing. I walked up to her desk just as Kakashi entered.

"Hikari... give me... my books... back," he said panting. I had run all through the village not just straight here. And Kakashi was dumb enough not to cut off my path.

"I don't think Lady Hokage would encourage the types of books you were reading if she knew Kakashi," I said, my voice teasing. Kakashi wimpered and held out his hand. I sighed and gave them back. Right when they hit his hands and i had let go, Kakashi jumped in the air celebrating. He quickly rushed out when he noticed the look lady Tsunade gave him.

"So, Hikari did you come here for business or just to give Kakashi his books?" she said with a smile.

"Actually Lady Hokage, I was wondering if I could go and search for someone to train me," I said boldly. That was definately not my actual plan.

"Do none of the sensei we have here suit you?" she asked. I shook my head.

"You tell her," said Mai. I chuckled.

"Very well, you have my permission," she said quickly returning to the papers in front of her. I bowed quickly and exited.

I walked to the front gate and looked back at the village I had so recently come to. I sighed and forced my head to turn and my feet to start moving again. I started to hum to myself and then made up my own words as I skipped into the forest.

"I'm off to see Itachi, the oldest Uchiha of all, because, because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful things he does." I guess that didn't really make sense. Neither was it really that true. I found out during my time there that Sasuke left the village to be trained by Orochimaru so he could kill Itachi. I couldn't let him do that. So I decided I would be trained by the Akatuski so I could defend Itachi against Sasuke.

"You were looking for me?" A cold voice behind me asked. I turned to see Itachi. he didn't look much differnet except taller and a bit older looking. He looked at me with confusion on his face. It had only been 5 years. Did he really not recongize me? I threw myself at him and embraced him in a hug.

"I missed you," I said as I hugged him. I touched my fingers to my lips and then to his forehead. I could hear his gasp audibly.

"Hikari?' he asked with surprise in his voice.

"I finally came back," I said.
