Light burst into a room with stone walls, the wooden windows letting in the red hues of the setting sun. It turned the room dark and almost a blood red as if it were a symbol for a terrifying future. The cries of a female infant filled the air as a woman let out a gasp of pain that turned to a brief cry as a final wave went through her. She shook as she looked over at her sister. Her bright green eyes took in the daughter she had just given life to. Everything that she had just gone through now seemed like a distant memory as she watched her sister clean her up. Had she really just given birth to such a tiny thing?

Tears threatened to fall at the thought. She really was a mother now. The long months and fretting over everything had happened as she waited for the creation to come into the world.

She took her just as her husband stepped into the room curiously and worriedly. He was shaken as well and was relieved to see that they were both okay. He went to the bedside and couldn't help but smile at the precious baby in his wife's arms. "She is so beautiful!" he breathed. It was love at first sight. He gently grasped her tiny hand as she suckled from her mother's breast. His eyes widened as she seemed to hold his finger.

The rest of the family entered to look at the new baby. Everyone loved her immediately and they rejoiced in her coming into the world. Her parents were proud of her and happily took on the challenges of parenthood after that day. But there was a day they could not prepare for coming their way from far in the future....
