After the funeral, we all parted ways. Aunt Denise wanted to meet up with Gerard and I so she could get to know him. We planned that for the day after the funeral, because I just spent the rest of that night crying. So... you're saying that... we do not, in fact, all want to party when the funeral ends? (Ba ba ba, ba ba ba) Nobody? Okay. I'll sit down.

Well, now the day had come, and Gerard was really nervous. "Gerard, babe, calm down. You've already met Denise. She's cool," I chuckled. The day had come?? YEAH, IT'S LITERALLY THE NEXT DAY. 0/10 understanding of how to refer to short passages of time, 2015 M.

"What if I screw it up and she changes her mind about us?" I wish.

"She's just my aunt. It's not like she can prevent me from dating you," I sighed. He hesitantly nodded in agreement and took my hand with one of his while the other one stayed on the steering wheel. I gave him the directions to Denise's house and we arrived in about fifteen minutes. Wish she could though.

He took my hand again as I knocked on her door. She came out to greet us within a few seconds. She hugged me, which I had expected, but she hugged Gerard next. She stepped aside and let us both enter her house. Gerard and I took a seat on the couch and Denise walked away for a moment. When she came back, I heard the familiar squeal and giggle that nearly brought tears to my eyes. SHOULD'VE LET THE POOR GIRL GO TO THE FUNERAL!! Also, another unrelated sidenote here, but, since Denise didn't know about Gerard, and Sky's parents are dead, where the hell does she think Sky has been staying? In the house with the memories of her dead parents? She never felt it necessary to call and make sure her minor niece isn't homeless or miserable? She took Katie in, but never even asked where or how the other MINOR was? She just decided the other minor should be good enough living by herself with her dead parents' stuff? 0/10 being a responsible adult, Denise.

"Katie!" I exclaimed, and I jumped up to greet her. God, I've missed her. She squealed and giggled once more as I picked her up and spun her. Aunt Denise laughed and sat on a chair near the couch. I took my seat on the couch right next to Gerard, but I still kept Katie in my lap. Gerard waved to Katie and she giggled. Well, she wouldn't be giggling if y'all weren't being cruel as hell by letting her believe her parents are alive. Goodbye everyone, she'll remember you all in therapy. (Nobody? Okay.)

"Does Katie know him?" Denise asked.

"Yeah, actually. They met once," I answered. "Katie, do you remember Gerard?" I asked Katie. She nodded and giggled again.

"Uh-huh! He told stories with me!" she exclaimed. She slightly crawled off of my lap to give Gerard a small hug, which practically caused my heart to burst from cuteness. He smiled widely and returned the hug. He squeezed her slightly and she giggled before she sat on both of our laps, since we were sitting so close together that it was possible. We talked to her for a while before she finally got sleepy so Denise put her down for a nap. Fiiiiiilllller. Also, more things for Katie to tell her future therapist about. Can't wait.

"Okay, Gerard. Now I can interrogate you," Aunt Denise said. She was good at faking serious, but I was used to her sense of humor, and I knew she was kidding. Gerard still looked nervous. "I'm just kidding. You seem alright," she chuckled. He's not alright. Interrogate away. Castrate him.

"Don't give him a heart attack. He doesn't know your humor yet," I playfully warned Denise. Give him a heart attack. Hope he dies.

"Fine. I'm just screwing with you, Gerard. I'm really okay with it, as long as you make Skylar happy." Don't be okay with it!!! Be a responsible adult!! First, you leave her theoretically homeless, now this?

"I hope I make her happy. She makes me really happy," he said, and then he kissed my cheek.

"So, here's what's going on. I don't mean to rush you two or anything but, are you two planning on living together?" she asked. OH NOW SHE DECIDES TO INQUIRE ABOUT SKY'S LIVING SITUATION? And why was them living together her first thought? SKY IS A MINOR! You should be taking her in, not letting her decide to move in with her old ass boyfriend as a MINOR!! -10000/10 at being a responsible adult, Denise.

"Um... Well, we haven't really discussed it yet. I mean, if she wants to, of course, but I know she's young and I don't want to like... Scare her away or anything," Gerard said, but he chuckled by the end. Unfortunately, if you previous bullshit hasn't scared her away, there's not much you can do. (Don't be like Sky, guys.)

"Well here's the current situation. Because I'm the only close relative of your parents' that lives around here, I'm the legal guardian of Katie and you. I was just going to say that, if you really wanted to, I'd let you live with Gerard, as long as I'm still your legal guardian if anybody asks," she explained to me. I looked at Gerard so we could discuss this. He turned to face me and grabbed both of my hands. SO SHE'S THE LEGAL GUARDIAN AND SHE STILL DIDN'T THINK TO CALL AND CHECK IN ON SKY'S LIVING SITUATION? SHE TOOK IN THE TODDLER AND DIDN'T EVEN CALL TO SEE IF THE OLDER SISTER WANTED TO MOVE IN WITH HER LEGAL GUARDIAN? SHE JUST LEFT HER TO LIVE ALONE WITH HER DEAD PARENTS' STUFF? This is horrific behavior.

"What do you say, baby? Would you move in with me? I don't want to force you into anything, and if you think you're too young, you don't have to. But do you want to?" he asked. Please say no.

"Of course I want to live with you, babe, but what if we get caught? I'm underage until my birthday in May," I sighed. PLEASE SAY NO.

"We can just be careful," he sighed. The way he said she had a choice, but then immediately tried to talk her out of saying "no." Classic abuser behavior. Don't let anyone treat you like that. You always have a choice, and if they act like you don't, then your choice should be to leave their sorry ass.

"Can I think it over?" I asked nervously. He looked a bit hurt but then he nodded and turned back to Denise.

I mean, of course I wanted to live with him, but could I? Could I really trust the man who cheated on his ex with me and then totally ran away from me to go back to his home state? Can I trust a man who once used me for sex? Could I trust a man that went for a girl so much younger than him? He had already gotten most of my stuff from my parents' house for me, because I couldn't bear to step foot in there, but was I ready to commit to moving in with him? FUCKING FINALLY SKY IS USING HER BRAIN! Wish it stayed this way but I unfortunately remember that it doesn't. I think 2015 M wrote this specifically to torture me. Rereading this is the most effective form of torture I could imagine.

This was all going a little too fast for me. THANKS FOR HAVING A BRAIN, BABY.
