aurora had spent the last few days in a blissful post-coachella daze, alternating between catching up on sleep and rewatching her own performances like they weren't already burned into her memory. the internet had been relentless, dissecting every moment of her set, from the viral billboard announcement to the way she commanded the stage. she had spent hours scrolling, laughing at edits, and reposting memes—until her doorbell rang.

frowning, she set her phone down and padded over to the door, only to be met with an absolutely massive bouquet of pink roses.

"miss aurora?" the delivery guy barely waited for her nod before shoving the flowers into her arms and turning to leave.

"uh, thanks?" she called after him, still caught off guard. balancing the bouquet, she nudged the door shut with her hip and carried them inside, inhaling the faint floral scent as she set them down on the counter. that's when she noticed the small card tucked between the petals.

she pulled it out, unfolding the simple yet precise handwriting:

"be ready by 7 pm. see you soon. -d"

aurora stared at it for a second, her lips twitching upward. drew and his cryptic messages.

-

by 6:55 pm, aurora was dressed and waiting, her foot tapping impatiently against the floor. she had chosen a sleek but simple dress, something that wasn't too formal but also not too casual. the text had said nothing about where they were going, but she knew drew—he wasn't the type to go for anything overly extravagant. still, the anticipation was killing her.
