"Are you serious?" Jimin exclaimed. "Your wedding is in a month?" Jungkook asked, his voice laced with concern. Jisoo and Taehyung both nodded in confirmation. They were gathered in Taehyung's CEO office, the opulent space reflecting the tension in the air. Taehyung rose from his chair and walked towards the expansive glass wall, gazing out at the serene cityscape. "Why can't our lives be as peaceful as this view?" he mused, his voice a low murmur, attempting to mask his inner turmoil. The others exchanged uneasy glances.
"It could be, Tae," Jisoo replied, trying to diffuse the tension, "we just need to talk and sort things out." Jimin and Jungkook, privy to the situation with Yn, remained silent, respecting her wish to shield Taehyung from the truth, fearing the pain he would endure knowing she had suffered alone.
"Think again, Taehyung, please, just once!" Jungkook blurted out, his worry overriding his restraint. Jisoo looked at Jungkook, confused by his sudden outburst. Taehyung chuckled sadly before addressing Jungkook. "I've already thought about this extensively, Jungkook. There's no point in further contemplation. It's over, and we must move on." Jimin, growing frustrated, retorted, "Seriously, Taehyung? I know life moves on, but someone is still deeply invested in you and living a life of hell." Jimin emphasized his words by pointing his index finger towards Taehyung's back.
Jisoo, who had been seated on the plush couch, slowly rose to her feet. "Yn," Taehyung breathed, turning to face Jimin. "What the hell are you talking about?" he demanded, his voice laced with aggression. He knew it.
He rushed towards Jimin, who was equally prepared for a confrontation. "Jimin, spill it. Tell me, it's her husband, isn't it? That Seungcheol hurt her, right?" Taehyung's nostrils flared, his anger reaching a boiling point. He needed confirmation, and then he would confront Seungcheol.
"Why do you care now? Go and marry Jisoo," Jimin replied sarcastically. Jisoo narrowed her brows, puzzled by Jimin's behavior. Taehyung, already consumed by frustration, gripped his own hair, attempting to regain control. But Jimin continued to fuel the flames. "Leave her now, like you did four years ago, wi-"
"TAEHYUNG!" Jisoo's sharp cry cut through the tense air as Taehyung, without warning, seized Jimin's collar, preventing him from finishing his sentence. "PARK JIMIN, MARK MY WORDS, I DIDN'T LEAVE HER! SHE CHOSE THAT SEUNGCHEOL OVER ME!" Taehyung hissed into Jimin's face, his voice a strained whisper filled with raw aggression and anger. His knuckles were bone-white as his grip tightened on Jimin's collar, his eyes growing bloodshot, veins throbbing visibly on his neck.
Jungkook and Jisoo swiftly intervened, moving to separate the two men. Jungkook placed a hand on Jimin's shoulder, urging them both to step back. "Taehyung, please release Jimin and calm down," Jungkook pleaded. Jimin, however, remained defiant, his fierce gaze locked with Taehyung's, further igniting the volatile situation.
"It's precisely because of this behavior of yours, KIM TAEHYUNG, that she chose Seungcheol over you," Jimin retorted, his voice tight as he gripped Taehyung's wrists and forcefully pushed his hands away from his collar. Taehyung's anger was at its zenith, but Jimin's words struck him with unexpected force. His heavy breathing faltered, and he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder-Jisoo. Taehyung closed his eyes, a flood of memories washing over him.
His fierce temper and possessiveness had often frightened Yn. His own insecurities had led him to misunderstand her. He had been quick to mistrust her, yet she had always ultimately chosen him and their friends. Why not then, when he had finally been ready to make her his? Taehyung opened his eyes, his gaze meeting Jimin's unwavering, resolute stare as he adjusted his disheveled suit.
