Have you ever felt an icy shiver race down your spine for no apparent reason? Did you catch whispers drifting through the air when you were all alone? Or spotted something lurking in the shadows that shouldn't be there? Well, friend, you just might have experienced a paranormal encounter, and we're eager to share your spine-tingling tales in the thrilling reincarnation of our anthology!

But hold on just a moment before you unleash your tale like a ghost escaping a haunted house! We have a few simple guidelines to ensure your spooky saga is not only captivating but also submission-friendly:

🕸️ 1. KEEP IT REAL, NOT REEL

This isn't about fictional stories! We want actual true paranormal experiences that happened to YOU or someone you know (no borrowed horror movie plots, please).

👀 2. DETAILS MATTER

Set the scene! Where did it happen? What time was it? What were you doing before the creepy stuff started? The more details, the better—we want to feel like we were right there with you (minus the actual ghost part, of course).

👻 3. SPOOKY, NOT GORY

Paranormal is fun. Horror-movie-level gore? Not so much. Keep it eerie, unsettling, and mysterious without diving into extreme violence or graphic content. Please keep the Wattpad Code of Conduct in mind and adhere to the Wattpad Content Guidelines. 

📝 4. SHORT, LONG, OR TERRIFYINGLY DETAILED

Aim for at least 200 words—enough to give us the chills but not so long that we need an exorcism before finishing it. But if your tale needs more space, feel free to share as much as you like. We're ready for every eerie detail.

🔮 5. ANONYMITY IS TOTALLY OKAY

If you don't want your name attached to your paranormal experience, no problem! You can submit anonymously and let the spirits speak for themselves.

🖋️ 6. WE'LL POLISH YOUR STORY (BUT NOT CHANGE IT!)

Don't worry if your spelling or grammar is a little... ghostly. 👀 We'll edit for clarity, grammar, and typos so your story shines—without changing what actually happened.

⏳ 8. PATIENCE

If all guidelines are followed, your story will be featured in part four of our real-life paranormal experience anthology. However, everything mystical works in mysterious ways (as do submissions). Give us time to review! In the meantime, check out parts one, two, and three of the paranormal experience for some creepy fun.

FAQ – Frequently Haunted Questions 👻

I haven't been writing for very long, can I still submit?
Yes, while we do not expect perfection, we ask that you send us your best efforts, regardless of writing skill.

Can I submit a story if English is not my first language?
Yes, but stories must be written in English. Even if English is not your first language, you are still encouraged to share your work with us.

Why did Paranormal remove my name/location?
We like to keep things creepy, not concerning. If your story includes sensitive information, mature themes, or particularly upsetting content, Paranormal reserves the right to change or omit these at our discretion, without notification.

I got carried away and wrote 3,000 words! Will you still publish it?
Yes, there is no upper word limit, but we do look for a minimum of around 200 words (because "I saw a shadow. The end." isn't quite enough for us).

I have loads of stories to tell you. Do I just have to pick one?
No. You may send us more than one submission, though features will be staggered - i.e., your subsequent stories will be uploaded weeks to months after the first.

I don't know what to choose as my title!
If you can't commit to a chosen title or come up with one at all, don't panic! Our editor will gladly assist—especially if there's coffee involved. (A strong espresso works like magic. Just saying.)
