(Dan's POV)
I wake up to the unpleasant sound of crashing and banging coming from the kitchen. What on Earth was Phil doing? Building a new cupboard? My curiosity gets the better of me and I get out of bed to see what Phil is doing.
I'm shocked to see coffee grounds on the floor and Phil is whacking the coffee machine.
"Phil! What are you doing?"
He looks up, surprised to see me, "I think our coffee machine is broken."
"Well, I'd be broken too if you hit me like that."
"Hitting things sometimes works so I thought I'd give it a shot."
"Why are there grounds all over the floor?"
"Oh, I knocked over the coffee tin while trying to get this thing to work."
"Fantastic..."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up."
"It's fine, I probably would have woken up soon anyway. I guess we're getting a new coffee machine today then. Wanna come with me to get it?"
"Sure, can we go get coffee first though?"
"Yeah, we'll go there and then go to the shop. Is there anything else we need while we're out?"
"No, I'm pretty sure that's all."
"Alright then, let me get ready and then we'll go."
Soon I'm dressed in my classic black t-shirt and jeans and we're making our way out of the flat. I immediately regret wearing a t-shirt when I realize how bloody cold it is. Phil and I pick up our pace when it begins to rain and arrive at the coffee shop in record time. We open the door to be greeted by a wave of warmth and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
We order our drinks in a rush and after we realize all the tables are taken. What happened to the mainly empty shop? It was never this crowded.
"I guess we're taking these coffees to go then?" I say to Phil.
"Your friend is over there...do you think she'd mind if we sat with her?"
My eyes go over to where Aria is sitting and I see her sitting alone. I'd love to sit with her, but I'm afraid it would be awkward with Phil. What's the worst that could happen though?
"I'll go ask her, you wait here." I sat as I make my way over to her. She looks up from her drink and spots me coming over.
"Hey Dan!"
"Hey! How are you?"
"Same as usual, how 'bout you?"
"Very cold actually. I hate to ask this, but could me and Phil sit here with you? We didn't realize there weren't any tables left until after we ordered."
"Oh, yeah! Of course! I'd love the company!"
"That's fantastic, I'm just going to get Phil and my drink and then I'll be back."
I rush back over to Phil to grab my drink and return to Aria and sit down. I'm beyond grateful that the shop is warm and I take advantage of it to dry out and stop shivering.
"This is Phil by the way, I don't think you two have actually met before."
"No, we haven't, it's nice to meet you Phil." Aria says as she extends her arm out to shake Phil's hand.
"It's nice to meet you too, thanks for letting us sit here by the way."
"Oh, it's not a problem at all! I wasn't going to let you go back out there and freeze, especially now that it's raining."
