-Marleys POV-
I'm so confused.
Do you ever wake up, but don't open your eyes and you just kind of lay there?
Well here I am doing just that. I'm afraid to open my eyes. Sleeping is an escape and I want this whole thing to be just one big dream. I want to wake up in my bed next to Dyson.
Dyson.
Shit. I wonder if he's ok. And Saige.
I slowly open my eyes in another all white room, but this was a bigger room with multiple hospital beds and a few patients and nurses moving about. I'm glad I'm in the back of the room away from everyone else.
I pulled the IV out of my arm and I moved to sit on the edge of my bed. Bad idea. Everything ached. My body was still sore and bruised from the beating I got from the Alpha and his idiot Beta.
I groaned in pain and discomfort. A nurse came to my assistance and laid me back down on my bed. She was an older lady with wrinkly skin and rosy cheeks. Old people are so adorable.
"Come on, dear. You aren't ready to move just yet."
I followed her gestured and laid back down with my eyes closed tight.
"The Alpha has been notified of your awakening and will be here soon. Is there anything you need in the meantime?" The old lady asked with a warming smile.
I saw her name tag. Sandy.
"Umm. How long have I been out?" I asked.
"Three days."
Dang.
"Oh wow. Well can I have some water and a cell phone, please Mrs. Sandy?" I smiled.
Her eyes lit up with excitement when I spoke her name. She gave me a nod and scurried off.
I have to get out of here before Ryder gets here. The last thing I want is him forcing me to stay here or touching me again. Ugh. That feeling that I refused to call a mate bond. I will not be a Luna. I'm a rogue. I'm proud to be a rogue.
'He will be here soon. You need to hurry and find an escape, but I don't think it's a bad idea to stay Mar' I hear Kai, my wolf, speak up in the back of my mind.
'We have a life and a family of our own to find. No more distractions'
'We can't leave our mate'
'Watch me'
I cut off her mind link so I won't have to hear anymore of her smart comments. Sandy had brought me a water bottle and a flip phone that I was guessing was hers. I chugged the water bottle. I haven't eaten or had anything to drink in two days. The only think that's keeping me going is the nutrients from those IVs.
I open the phone and I quickly dial Dysons number. It rings three times before it's finally picked up.
"Who is this?" I heard his husky voice on the other side of the line. It sounds like he hasn't slept in days.
"Dyson." I whisper in awe. I was just so glad to hear his voice.
He didn't respond. I repeated his name but he didn't say anything back again. I can hear him breathing.
"Dyson, please." I spoke on the edge of crying.
"Marley. I'm sorry. I'm not supposed to be talking to you. I heard about the fire and I'm just glad you're okay. I have to..uh..take care of some stuff before I can come get you wherever you are. Stay safe baby. I will make it up to-" Dylan was talking before someone snatched the phone out of my hand.
