-Marley's POV-

Ryder told the others that were following us to continue their duties. It's almost three in the morning. He kept asking me if I wanted to look in the morning after I get some sleep, but I wanted to know what I was right now.

I followed Ryder through the the pack house, which is also where he lives and where his office is. I've never been in here before. It was the size of a mansion, but only bigger. On the outside it looked like a modern day log cabin, but on the inside all the decor and furniture had a retro wooden style. Hardwood floors. Leather couches. Stainless steel refrigerator. Marble stairs and countertops. Beautiful.

I caught myself stopping to look around the house in awe. I focused my attention back to Ryder who was smirking at me.

"Impressive?" he asked with a soft smile.

I nodded and I felt my cheeks heat up.

I continued to follow him to one of the biggest rooms I've ever seen located near the back of the house. The library. Books were scattered everywhere on the tables and desk.

"Have you read all of these?" I questioned.

"Just about," he smiled, clearly proud of his answer, " I have a few books that might have what we are looking for."

It's been 2 hours.

"Can we please look tomorrow?" Ryder groaned in exhaustion.

He was laying out on the floor with about five books he's read cover to cover trying to find an answer.

"No! I need to figure out what I really am." I responded standing up skimming over the bookshelves.

"You've been looking in wolf anatomy and myths books. What I am clearly isn't a myth, because I'm here. We need to look in wolf history or wolf legend books, Ryder." I said frustrated.

"I love it when you tell me what to do." he smirked.

"Gross." I lied.

Butterflies. Oh sweet butterflies. Flying around in the pit of my stomach.

I grabbed two books off the self and sat next to Ryder on the floor.

"Read." I said handing him a book.

"Legacy of the Legendary Wolves?" he read the book title, "This is like a bedtime story my parents used to read to me when I was like 5."

"There has to be something, so just try it."

He groans and begins to read the book, and I read mine.

Secrets and Those In Between.

Sounds like it could be hiding something about me.

I was reading until I started slowly drifting asleep.

I wake up in black satin sheets, that smell like Ryder, in this huge bedroom. That's not mine. I shot up and looked around wide eyed. Ryder's clothes were on the ground and so were mine that I had on last night. I then realized I was wearing one of Ryder's shirts and some shorts. No. Did I? Did we? I started hyperventilating, how could I let this happen? Was I drugged? Did he force me to and then knocked me out unconscious.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in?" I said unsurely.

Ryder stuck his head through the door and peeked inside. I looked at him angrily.

"Did you do something to me last night!? Why are our clothes on the floor?! Why am I in your bed? Why am I in your clothes?" I got up walking toward Ryder pelting him with questions.
