Double Date

Pete and Porsche sat across from each other in a dimly lit café, leaning in like two scheming masterminds plotting a heist. And in a way, they were.

“I swear, Porsche, if Vegas finds out I tricked him, I’ll be sleeping in the guest room for a month,” Pete muttered, nervously stirring his coffee.

“Oh, come on! We’re just getting our boyfriends to watch a movie with us. It’s not a crime,” Porsche grinned.

“Besides, if we told them outright it was a double date, you think they’d agree?”

“Not a chance,” Pete sighed.

“Kinn would say he’s busy with work, and Vegas… well, he’d probably send Macau in his place just to mess with me.”

“Exactly! So we tell them it’s ‘important business.’ That way, they’ll both come,” Porsche smirked.

“Besides, I want to see the look on Kinn’s face when he realizes he’s been played.”

Pete shook his head but couldn’t help laughing.

“Fine. But if we die, I’m haunting you.”

—

It was showtime.

Kinn and Vegas arrived at the cinema separately, each believing they were about to handle some serious matter. Kinn, dressed in his usual business-casual elegance, adjusted his cuffs as he approached Porsche.

“Alright, what’s this about?” he asked, suspiciously eyeing the popcorn Porsche was holding.

Before Porsche could answer, Vegas strolled in, looking as if he already regretted coming.

“Pete, if this is about that bakery investment again, I—” He stopped mid-sentence as his eyes landed on Kinn.

Kinn frowned. “Why are you here?”

“I was going to ask you the same thing.”

Pete and Porsche exchanged glances, barely holding in their laughter.

“Oh,” Porsche said with an exaggerated look of realization. “This isn’t a business meeting. It’s a movie date.”

“Surprise!” Pete added weakly, already stepping slightly behind Porsche for protection.

Vegas and Kinn turned to their respective partners, betrayal written all over their faces.

“You tricked me?” Kinn asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Yep,” Porsche said, popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth. “And there’s no backing out now. We got tickets, and the movie starts in five minutes.”

Kinn exhaled sharply, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Porsche…”

Vegas, meanwhile, had crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes at Pete.

“You’re lucky you’re cute,” he muttered.

Pete beamed. “I know.”

—

Inside the theater, Porsche had insisted on sitting in a line: Porsche, Kinn, Vegas and pete. It wasn’t long before the chaos began.

As the trailers played, Porsche leaned toward Kinn.

“I picked a romantic comedy.”

Kinn gave him a flat look.

 “Of course you did.”

Meanwhile, Pete was nervously glancing at Vegas, who was staring at the screen with the look of a man calculating his revenge.

Then, the movie started. And within the first fifteen minutes, Porsche was laughing obnoxiously at every joke, Kinn was rubbing his temples in exasperation, Pete was enjoying the film, and Vegas… Vegas had found the armrest war with Kinn more interesting than the movie.

Kinn, who normally held a very dignified aura, was now engaged in an intense silent battle over the shared armrest with Vegas, neither willing to give an inch. Pete noticed and nudged Vegas. “Babe, seriously?”

“He started it,” Vegas whispered.

“I don’t even want it,” Kinn whispered back, trying to focus on the movie.

“I just don’t want you to have it.”

Porsche, overhearing them, started snickering.

 “You two are like toddlers.”

“Shut up,” both Kinn and Vegas hissed at the same time.

Things got even funnier when a dramatic kiss scene happened on screen. Pete watched as Kinn tried to pretend he wasn’t affected while Porsche exaggeratedly clutched his heart.

Vegas, being Vegas, leaned closer to Pete and whispered,

“I could do better.”

Pete smacked his arm, whispering,

“Behave.”

Two hours later, as the credits rolled, Kinn stood up immediately, stretching.

 “Never again.”

“Oh, come on, you had fun,” Porsche grinned, linking arms with him.

Vegas, still processing the absurdity of the entire night, turned to Pete.

“I will find a way to get back at you for this.”

Pete kissed his cheek.

“Looking forward to it.”

As they exited the theater, Kinn and Vegas exchanged glances, silently agreeing that next time, they would be the ones doing the tricking.

And Pete and Porsche… well, they were already planning the sequel.
