Beep, Beep, Beep!

I shoved the alarm clock off my dresser out of anger because I had just fell asleep a couple of hours ago. I was up all night finishing packing for the big move to the country.

"Amethyst! Wake up! I know you heard that alarm clock. We have a strict scheudule today. Breakfast is downstairs you only have 20 minutes!" My mom said as she flick the lights on in my room.

"Give me 5 more minutes, besides its not like i have to look for what i'm wearing because all my clothes are in bags!"I responded as I turned over in my bed that i will sleep in for the last time.

"Amethyst! You know that this move was a hard decision for me. I know you know that neither one of us wanted this to happen, but things kept pilling up and i cant afford this lifestyle anymore!"

"Well you didn't try hard enough! I can't tell you how many times we have went through this! This is our sixth move this year!"

"I dont want to hear this anymore! I don't have to explain myself every time when i make a decision about what is best for us! Now, get up and get dressed. We are leaving in less than an hour." My mother yelled as she slammed the door to my room.

I sat up and threw my feet over the side of my bed. I took a deep breath and let it out as hard i could hoping that she would hear. I got off my bed and started to rip the sheets off my bed. i grabbed my clothes that were on my dresser that i set out from earlier and walked to the bathroom. I took me a quick shower and put my clothes on. I grabbed my toothbrush and applied toothpaste to it and put it in my mouth and walked out the bathroom to go to my room. When i walked in it was completely empty. I guess the movers had already cleaned my room out. I went back to the bathroom to finish brushing my teeth and walked downstairs.

"Great...." I said as I looked at the table of what my mom called breakfast.

The table had a bowl, spoon, a gallon of milk and some corn flakes. Not frosted flakes; Corn Flakes! I walk to the fridge and looked in the bottom drawer and saw one red apple left. I picked it up and inspected it. it only had three small brown parts so i look on the bar and looked through several boxes to find a knife. Once i found a knife i cut off the brown parts and proceed to eat it. I walked around the house to see if there was anything i could help with.

Once everything was packed i got in the front seat of my moms car with a pillow, an army green blanket and my favorite stuffed animal. My third grade teacher bought it for me when she notice changes in my behavior and i would keep it with me all the time. Yes, i know i'm in high school, i need to grow up... yea yea my mom tell me all the time but i cant remember the last time that she have done anything to comfort me. All I can think of is her moving me from place to place and her expecting me to be ok with and adjust to the way she want me to. This stuffed animal was my escape. With this animal I am able to be in a different world the way i wanted. So of course i am keeping it until i can get my life under control.

"Sorry i was giving the movers our new address." my mom said as she got in the car and started the car up.

"Mhm," I said as i plugged my headphones in my ear and let my seat back all the way to get comfortable to catch up on so much needed sleep.

I glanced at my phone and read the time; 6:03. We are somewhat on time. As my mom pulled out of the drive I turned to look out of the window and took one last look at the house that we were in for maybe two months at the most. I turned and faced forward and grabbed my stuffed animal. I closed my eyes and payed attention to the music that was in my ear and dosed off in a sleep. I would open my eyes once in a while just to see if we made any progress in the driving as much as we move i should be use to it by now we are always on the move and i can't seem to grasp my head around the fact that we are always leaving and just when i think i'm finally breaking in my new life we have to pack up and leave again. I hope that this time around when we arrive at are new home we can finally stay a lot longer than 2 months.

I finally open my eyes to see nothing but clear blue water and my mother telling me that we are getting closer to the new house

"i thought we were moving to the country and now i see nothing but crystal clear water?"

"Change of plans." said my mother smiling at me in suspense.

We finally arrive at the most beautiful house i have ever seen a beach house right on the water glass in all the windows it was like a dream come true to live in a house like this. Now i had two choices ask my mother how she could afford a masterpiece like this or just not worry about it and live in this wonderful house. I start to unload the car with my stuff and walk into the house. This is our house just me and my mother i mean with a house this big it could fit a total of 20 people in here. I walked into the kitchen and open the refrigerator to see that it had been fully stocked with all the food i've seen in a long time i looked down in the bottom of the fridge to see a bag full of apple with now brown spots i grabbed one and wipe the red apple on my shirt and took a bite.

" So how do you like the new house?" my mother said with joy in her voice

"how did you get a place like this?" "You don't worry about all that just know that this is our new life okay."

I went to my room and started to unpack just to see that my room had already been set up for me this was just crazy i didn't understand it i could wrap my head around it, after i sat there for a few seconds contemplating i finally came to the conclusion that i didn't care what my mother did too get a house like this, i was living on the beach, i had a pool in my back yard, a jacuzzi for my bathtub my closet was so big i could fit a marching band inside this was amazing to me i could finally sleep without wondering what my next meal would be. The only thing i had to worry about was tomorrow...

The first day of school.
