Once i made it back home i went to the kitchen and found all the food i could get. Ever since the move the fridge has never went a day without being full. Around the corner was my mother in the house office, it seems she is the one who has been adjusting to the new life the most. I fixed up her favorite snack..... POTATO CHIPS.
Hey mom what's been going on
Oh nothing just finishing up this work, it seems like it can just go on and on if you don'g give yourself a break. It seems like i can never do just enough, She said smiling at me.
Well i'm just glad that you are finally getting the hang of working. You have always been able to work hard though.
Then i stopped to ask a question that iv'e been wanting to ask for a long time....
Hey mom are we going to pack up and leave again like we always do after we finally start to feel like we can officially relax. Why did we always pack up and leave i never got an answer, you always told me that it was because of this or that.
"Amethyst i don't tell you things that you have answers for because i don't want you to have to feel that you are the one that needs to take care of me. I'm the mother and i decide what is best for you i don't want to to think that it is the other way around until i'm 146 years old", She said while pinching my cheeks.
Just then a knock came from the front door.
"That's weird we've never had any guest so far", Said my mother
"You didn't order anything". I said still looking at the door
"No not that i recall i would remember something like that. Go ahead and open the door for me would ya i'm going to head up stairs and a take me a nice long bath okay."
My mother ran up stairs without looking back.
I opened the door and Zenna and her sister's were standing right there
"May we come inside Jem," Aziza said smiling as if she had seen something funny on my face
Sure i mean it would be really useless for you to come from where ever you came from just for me to tell you girls no wouldn't it. I spoke after reasoning, my first thought was to say hell no and slam the door in there face. Then i thought that i can't do that they have something that they need to tell me and i don't know how long it was going to be again before i could have a chance like this.
We all sat down in the living room and for a moment the air had became really thick i felt like my hands, feet, and body was stuck to the floor beneath me i didn't know what to do it was as if someone was holding a knife against my throat, i couldn't breath i wanted to run up stairs with my mom, i didn't want to be there in the room with these girls.
" So what is it that you need to speak with me about." I said wanting one of the four to say something to me.
Then Zenna starts to speak.
" You see Jem were running out of time here and there is a lot that we need to talk to you about now i asked you if you were ready for the truth, if you were ready for answers that needed to be given and if i'm not mistaken Ms. Park you don't know to much about what's been going on in your life."
" You see i know everything there is to know about you all of your secrets, your flaws, the tears you use to cry every night from not enough food, the fights you use to have at school with the kids, or that scar on the bottom of your left foot. So you see Jem i'm going to tell you this one time and i " Need" you to listen very carefully to every word i'm about to say.
I just froze how in the hell does she know all of these things about me. It's been years since iv'e gotten into fights at school, the scar on my left foot is so old iv'e forgotten about it. How does she know that i use to cry every night when me and my mom were low on food, MY OWN MOTHER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW I CRIED. This is something that is going to take a whole lot of time for explanation.
