You frowned digging through your closet, you had absolutely nothing to wear. Klaus had invited you to his family ball, but you didn't have a dress fancy enough. You liked Klaus, you liked him a lot, but he didn't know it. You were very timid so there was no way on this earth that you -would ever tell him, but you still wanted to Impress him and to get his attention. You sat on your bed with a sigh and picked up your phone to tell Klaus that you wouldn't be able to go, but the doorbell ringing stopped you. You walked to your front door and opened it, there wasn't someone there, but instead there was a small stack of white boxes on your porch swing. You walked over to them and saw a letter taped to the top of the pile

-Just in case...K-

You smiled and brought the boxes in and set them on the coffee table. The first box was empty and had a note saying

- you will have to wait for this one-

You smiled, put the box aside, and moved to the second one. This one was a little larger than the last. You opened it and gasped, there was a pair of shoes. a georgeous pare of black heals. You had seen them while shopping with Rebekka, but had left them at the store because there was no way you could afford them. Bekka must have told Klaus about them. In the last box, a box bigger than the last, there was a beautiful floor length dress that from the top down faded from black to colors that matched a sunset. You felt the soft fabric and looked at the clock. You had just enough time to get ready.

You got ready for the ball and arrived just in time to see Elijah make a toast. From up on the stair case you locked eyes with Klaus, and he smiled when he saw you. After the toast he walked over to you.

"Hello Love, You look absolutely stunning tonight." I tried not to let the shivers running up my spine at the sound of his voice show.

"Hey Klaus, and thankyou, but you know, I had absolutely nothing to do with how I look tonight."

"You do not?"

"No, a secret admirer delivered everything i'm wearing this afternoon."

"A secret admirer, now who could that be?" I knew what he was getting at, so I decided to play along.

"I have a vague idea, but I'm not that sure." I replied a hint of teasing in my voice.

"Well alow me to shed some light on the situation Love." Then he pulled a necklace out of his pocket. It was beautiful and sparkeled in the lights of the mansion. "This is the surpise you had to wait for"

I hugged him. "I love it Klaus, it's beautiful. all of this is too much Klaus. I don't deserve any of it."

"On the contrary" He said turning me around to put the necklace on my neck. "You deserve every bit of this.  Now love, might I have this dance."

You and Klaus danced, and you enjoyed every second of it. But then the song ended. You and klaus talked for a bit afterwords, but then he went over to talk business and dance with Caroline.

When you saw him dancing with her you sighed and decided it was time to leave. He obviously liked Caroline and you didn't feel like staying and watching them be in love. So you walked home not feeling like calling a cab or asking Matt to take you since he had driven you there.

When you got home you set your shoes on the porch (you had taken them off a block from klaus' home) and kl imbed into the porch swing bringing your knees to your chest. You sat there in though and tears started streaming down your face.

"There you are love, I was worried about you."  You looked up in shock. Standing directly in front of you was klaus. His bow tie was untied and hanging around his neck. But you didn't feel like talking to him.

"Why are you here. Doesn't Caroline need her dance partner or something?"  If he was surprised by your outburst he didn't show it.

"Nonsense. The only girl who needs me is the one I'm looking at right now." He said and sat down on the swing next to me.  He leaned over and wiped a tear off my cheek and asked. "Why are you crying love?"

"Someone at the party just upset me is all.  I'm over reacting."

"Y/N, I know you.  Tell me who did this and I'll rip out their heart." He replied with a growl.

"No! You can't do that!"

"And why not.  You deserve only happiness, and anyone who gives you otherwise is a no good low life."

"I smiled a bit at his words.  "It was you Klaus."  He looked shocked at my words so I felt I had to explain.  "I like you Klaus.  Everyone says I shouldn't, but I can't help it.  I can't help how my heart flutters every time I hear your voice, and I can't keep the blush off my cheeks when you call me Love.  When I saw you dance with Caroline I had to leave.  I wan't you to be happy, but I can't necessarily watch it."  I looked down at my feet.  I couldn't look him in the eyes, not now, but then I felt his hand lift up my chin forcing my to look into his eyes.

"Love, I so wish you had told me this sooner.  I wouldn't have wasted anytime dancing with Caroline.  I find that much of what you said applies to you as well.  You make me feel like a better Person Y/N.  Will you forgive me for being such a fool for ruining your evening, and mabe let me make it up to you tomorrow night."

I smiled.  "On one condition Klaus"

"Anything."

"You let me do this." Then I leaned in and kissed him, surprising us both with my sudden boldness, but it didn't phase him for more than a second.  He quickly responded and turned my evening into one of the best in my life.
