"Legolas you have failed in your duty to keep your sister from harm and thus have failed your King and your people" Thranduil's voice echoed throughout the endless room, elevated upon his great throne. Two elven guards appeared by the shamed prince's side, his hands were bound by thick rope behind him and a swollen cheek were evidence of his supposed crime.
"Father you must listen," his hoarse voice paled compared to the strength and bitterness of Thranduil's tone "I have done my duty as her guardian ever since nana was murdered in cold blood, and yet I feel nothing was accomplished. By setting her free I fulfilled my duty as her brother and-"
"ENOUGH!"
The searing scar placed upon the elven king by dragon fire grew more intense with his growing rage, his once fair face becoming melted within a matter of seconds, presenting to his people the true nature of his fury. Legolas felt something snap deep within him as he brought his bound hands around one of the guard's neck before kneeing his lower back so that the guard was forced onto his knees.
The other began cursing in elvish as he drew his sword; Legolas took the opportunity to use the sword to free his hands, wrenching the gleaming blade from his opponent's steel grip. Thranduil watched through expressionless eyes as the young prince pressed the blade against the guard's throat "Leave now" he spat before releasing the frightened guard and dropping the blade.
A loud CLANG rang throughout the now abandoned throne room; tension infected the once fair atmosphere.
"I have done what was right" Legolas managed to say through his anger. Thranduil's remained expressionless as he descended his throne and made his way towards Legolas. A wave of uneasiness washed over Legolas but he stood tall, with fists clenched, matching the elven King's steel gaze, "Father-?"
Thranduil's eyes flashed a stormy grey as he looked down upon the Elven Prince
"I have no son."
Before Legolas could comprehend what had happened, a sharp pain coursed throughout his back. A wounded cry left his lips as he fell to the ground, before slipping into a silent unconsciousness.
