Chapter 7- I'm Such A Fangirl

Hey y'all. It's Vivi and I'm super sorry I haven't updated in a while but I went on vacation in the Caribbean so I didn't have internet. Thanks for putting up with my super slow updates. So hope you enjoy this chapter and remember to comment!

Cassidy's P.O.V
I walked into the cafeteria and grabbed a plate of eggs and bacon before going to search for a place to sit. I hesitated when I saw Tobias at the initiates' table, about to go over and say hi, but I decided against it. I quickly set my tray down next to Angie's and felt my heart flutter as I looked over and saw Tobias quickly wink at me. Ugh, I sound like a lovesick fangirl. I was determined to talk to Tobias again so I decided to go watch the initiates fight today. Trying to distract myself from the way his brown eyes perfectly caught the light and turned hazel, I turned toward my friends. As usual, Christy and Derek were arguing about something completely pointless.

"I just don't understand why you have to be so freakin' stubborn and won't accept the fact that Eva will NEVER like you back", Christy yelled harshly in Derek's face. I felt bad for him but I couldn't help agreeing with Christy. Sam, Angie, and I waited in bated breath for Derek to respond, afraid that he would reach across the table and bitch clap Christ for her snide remark.

Derek took a deep breath to calm himself down before saying, "You know what Christ? Just because you're PMSing 24/7 doesn't mean that you can just a complete bitch all the time."

Everyone gasped and I blinked a few times in shock. I couldn't believe he just said that. I was about to open my mouth and say something, but I didn't want to face the wrath of Derek or Christy by taking sides.

"Okay, just because you two have some kind of weird sexual tension doesn't mean that you can have a screaming match in front of everyone. So either kiss and makeup, or go fight somewhere else so I can eat my oatmeal in peace," Angie said, she had always shipped Derek and Christy. I breathed a sigh of relief as the fighting pair visibly calmed down.

Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Tobias and the other initiates leaving their table and heading towards the door. Quickly picking up my tray, I muttered a goodbye and an excuse for leaving, which was barely noticed now that Derek and Christy were directing their anger towards Angie. I laughed a little, briefly hearing Derek avidly deny having anything to do with Christy. They were all idiots but they were my idiots.

I dropped of my tray and half eaten food in the Tray Return as I followed the last initiate out the door. Thanking myself for wearing sensible shoes today, I walked along the treacherous edge of the Cavern towards the training arena.

Once in the arena, I saw the board with all the names of the initiates in the corner and I saw that Tobias would be fighting Elizabeth, a tough Dauntless-born with piercings and tattoos on every inch of skin. It would be a close fight since I knew Elizabeth was vicious but Tobias seemed like he could fend for himself.

I settled down on the bleachers as Ronnie, this year's initiate instructor, started showing them basic moves. I always thought the Dauntless-born had an unfair advantage during training since they had been raised to fight but it wasn't my decision to make. I watched as Eric fought, and easily beat an Amity initiate. He seemed like a natural born fighter, definitely better than me. After a couple more fights I watched in awe as Tobias had a dangerously close fight with Elizabeth, both using close to professional skill tactics. It was easy to see that Eric, Tobias, and Jonathan, leader of the Dauntless-borns, were the strongest of the initiates. I knew they would compete for the top spot but for right now, it was hard to see who would win.

I walked into the dining hall with Angie after she had joined me to watch the rest of the initiates fight. We had come a little early so the line didn't have anyone in it. I grabbed a BLT, a bag of pretzels, and a can of root beer. We walked to our usual table where Derek was already sitting. Christy and Sam were probably still in the library shelving books to complete their community service hours. I began eating and talking about random things with Angie as the dining hall slowly began filling up. As Christy and Sam sat down at our table I noticed both of them smiling widely, like they were keeping a secret from the rest of us.

"What's going on with you two?", I asked suspiciously.

Christy glanced at Sam before smiling and saying, "Sam asked me out!"

My jaw dropped at her statement. This was quite the surprise to all of us. I snapped my attention to Derek who had angrily stood up and was now walking away from us. I shared a glance with Angie that confirmed my suspicions, Derek had like Christy after all. Not wanting things to get awkward, I put on a smile and gushed excitedly with Christy. As I congratulated Christy and Sam, I felt a hand on my shoulder. Jumping slightly I glanced up to see Eric's handsome face.

"Hey," I said, surprised to see him.

"Hey, I have a couple hours before training so I was wondering if you wanted to come to the screening room with me..", Eric said hesitantly. Was he asking me out on a date???

"Like just the 2 of us?", I questioned.

"Yeah.. If that's okay with you of course."

I smiled at how gentlemanly he was being. I contemplated for a second and realized that although I might have a slight crush on Tobias, Eric was too hot to deny.

"I'd love too," I said as I stood up and placed my hand in his. As I walked out of the dining hall, I glanced at Tobias who was glaring straight at Eric. I wonder what happened between them.

Tobias' P.O.V.
I watched, seething with anger, as Cassidy walked out the dining hall, hand in hand with Eric. He had beat me to the chase and I knew I would have to get Cassie to fall for me before she slept with Eric. She seemed like a classy girl so I knew I still had some time before she gave it to him. Hastily pushing my tray into the Tray Return, I headed out the door and back to the initiate dorm to plan a date that would make Cassidy fall in love with me.

Cassidy's P.O.V.
Barely paying attention to whatever movie was playing on the screen, I had spent the past 30 minutes staring at Eric's face. He was like a perfect specimen sculpted from clay. So far he has been the perfect gentleman, lightly holding my hand and laughing whenever I told a bad joke. I wished we had gone somewhere where we could actually talk, but there was always next time. For some reason every time Tobias crossed my mind I felt guilty, like I was cheating on him or something. I laughed at my own silly thoughts, Tobias might look like my dream guy but I have Eric now. And besides, Tobias doesn't even like me.

Okay this is super random but lately I've been watching this super amazing show called Warehouse 13. If you've seen it then I totally love you. If you haven't then you need to go watch it right now! It's available on Netflix and it's a science fiction kind of show with some crime solving

Another super random thing (sorry): my OTP lately has been Huntbastian. For those who don't know what that is its Hunter and Sebastian from Glee. If anyone knows a good huntbastian fanfic please please please tell me! Thanks.

Aotd: I definitely can't choose just one but to narrow it down, I would say 3 of my absolute faves are Tyler Oakley, Dan Howell (danisnotonfire), and Phil Lester (AmazingPhil). Kind of a basic answer but I love them.
