I fluttered my eyelashes as I felt my whole body moving. My neck felt stiff, I finally opened my eyes and realized I was in a car. My heart panicked, I slowly turned my head looking left to figure out who is driving. "Noah." I was shocked at what I was seeing. His jaw was locked and his shirt was stained with blood.
I could see his veins pop out of his arms as he continued driving. "Noah." I said it louder, loud enough so that he can hear and focus on me. His eyes were dark. "Good you're awake." He said touching my chin making my head move so he can observe me.
I was confused and puzzled, I grabbed his hand from my face. He put his hands back on the steering wheel. "How do you feel?" He asked but he made sure he didn't miss the anger in his voice. "Confused and I have a bad headache.".
"What happened Noah?" He clenched his jaw. "Luna what is the last thing you can remember?" For a minute I sat there in silence.
Trying so hard to remember, he waited patiently for me to say anything, anything at all. "Look at your clothes." He said soft and low.
Looked down to see the clothes I borrowed from Arianna, ripped with holes. My zipper was broken, I lifted my shirt...It was half hand bruises.
My wrist was worse. Then it finally came in...I wasn't in a fight. I sobbed into my hand my chest felt heavy.
"Mr.burner kicked me in my mouth, dragging me up stairs." The words were just dropping out my mouth like a ton of weights. The tears were rolling down my cheeks.
"Then he..." The word was struggling to be said out my mouth. "Raped...me." I was crying and sobbing, it was like I couldn't breathe. He pulled off to the side of the road. He grabbed my hand.
Making me face him. By now my breathing was unsteady and heavy. "Luna, stop crying." He picked my chin up, "I stopped him before he could really do anything." I cried hearing those words.
He let me cry on his shoulder, I was actually happy that nothing happened, that he stopped it. Yes I was beaten up badly, but I wasn't raped.
I wiped my tears with the sweater sleeves. "Are you good now." His green eyes weren't even green anymore, it was dark gray. He voice made me sure that he was concerned. I nodded my head. He gave my hair one last pet and began driving.
I was still confused, like where are we going and why are we even in the car?
"How did you um...find me." He bit the corner of his lip before answering. "Well first I saw you in the field running. You caught my eye because all I see is purple hair. I seen him stop you, it was as if he was screaming at you. You must've said something that pissed him off."
He made a right turn.
"He grabbed you by the wrist. Then I knew that was my cue. To try to catch up with you both. So after I ran through a crowd of people. I seen your...blood on the stairs. I ran up stairs. I heard something that sounded like tools falling. I ran into the classroom, as you can see the blood on my shirt."
"Just in case you were wondering this isn't fully your blood."
But something in that story didn't add up.
"Wait why did you follow me? We could've been going to the office. How did you know?"
A small laugh escaped his mouth.
"Because way before that. I seen him, when I was sitting in the bleachers with Arianna. Apparently she told the principle... But once I seen him. I knew she lied to me. We argued until she said "We should just stayed bestfriends." He smirked after he said that.
