"Look, I'm not here to cause any trouble, and I promise that me and Justin are just friends. I would never allow myself to be the other girl or the one the guy cheats on with" she said shaking her head slightly.

"I saw you kissing" I suddenly blurt out.

"I was the one who kissed him, it's not his fault, I promise, and I'm really sorry for that" she said, I searched her eyes for any lie, but I came out clean.

"He kissed you back, Selena, he didn't pull away...I saw it all" I mumbled feeling a pang in my chest as the image of them kissing replayed infront of me again.

"Look, I know Justin for quite a long time and I can tell that he cares about you. He loves you, Maddie and I can tell that" she said as hurt flashed through her eyes.

"He doesn't 'care', Selena...they never do" I whispered the last part.

"Trust me, he does" she said.

"Why are you even telling me this? And even if you're telling me that you guys are just 'friends' and that you wouldn't be trying anything...why would I believe you? I can see the hurt in your eyes as you say that he cares about me" I said confused.

"I don't have any proof that I could give you to prove my intentions...I guess you just gotta trust me on this" she said with a small shrug.

We fell in silence, I took a small sip from my orange juice feeling my mouth dry. She suddenly cleared her throat making me look up at her from my glass.

"I know that I should be trying to just move on and start a new beginning...but in some twisted way, I still can't let him go and I still need him in my life even just as a friend" she said and I actually respected her honesty.

"Well, I guess that I have no right to stop you guys from being friends, it's just none of my business" I mumbled with a small shrug.

I noticed her open her mouth and was about to say something, when the chair beside me was pulled and someone sat down. I looked up to find Dallas looking at Selena with narrowed eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Dallas asked glaring at her.

"I-"

"We were talking, Dallas" I cut Selena off, seeing how nervous she got.

"Sure" she said rolling her eyes.

"Anyways, when are we supposed to go to Beverly Hills? And did the others wake up, or are they still asleep?" I asked changing the subject.

"They're still asleep and I don't really know when we're supposed to hit the road" Dallas said with a shrug.

"Why didn't you wake them up?" I asked frowning.

"And why should I? They're not my kids" she said simply looking at me as if I'm crazy for even asking that.

"It's not that-whatever" I said rolling my eyes, I know that it's a lost argument, so why should I even argue this early in the morning?

"I can't wait to go to Beverly Hills with you guys" I heard Selena beam.

"You're coming with us?" I asked not really so excited.

I mean can you blame me? She kissed my man. Hold up right there, Maddie. You can't just claim a man that doesn't even like you anymore that is, did he even like me in the first place? Or was I just a rebound?

"Yeah, turns out that I have an interview there, isn't that great? The three of us could go shopping and go to the salon-of course, if that's okay with you guys" she said quickly, she actually didn't look like she was faking her excitement.
