Chapta 1-(the last birthday I spend with my parents).

I sitting here in the family's dining room, underneath a chandelier. Where sitting here sipping expensive wine and having a roast dinner.

That is after our 1st class courses...entree and fillers and such. While I try to stop slouching.

Honestly I'm sick of it. My parents having dinners and setting up men who are of their taste. The gentlemen are so snobby all stuck up in their art class worlds.

I can't exactly judge as I'm almost exactly the same, yet I'd give anything not to be. I've been the perfect daughter, all straight A's. Ofcourse that means I have no opinion of my own.

My parent said "why go to college or whatever they call it now university just to what, waste time. Why go anywhere when you have all the money in the world.

God, with these uncomfortable shoes which are high class but ugly and brown. And all these clothes covering to my wrists.

And buttons. Zippers. Lace.

At least they didn't through a ball this year like last. So many people stoping on my feet after asking me to dance.

I'm sick of all the set up dates and get with a rich man and you won't have to work.

I'm sick of it all, done being "Miss Perfect."

The way I talk now, conscious of how I speak. I can't even swear for crips sake. I look at my self in the mirror trying and its like its some horrible thing like if bad words comes out of my mouth everything will come unraveling.

"Dear" then a clear of throat "dear, day dreaming again" I hear my mother's voice and snap out of it.

"Yes mother, sometimes my brain...wonders" I say knowing I've worded it so I sound crazy, maybe I will scare off mums new set up for me.

"Yes you make it sound stranger than it is really, bronce was just saying he is going really successful in his occupation. Bronce dear, tell us more" mum says in an annoyingly posh accent, that I think comes naturally to her.

Even though we live in Australia, the posh just brings out more in her...1st class world I'm sure. She does act like the queen of England, no the queen of England doesn't sucome to being so...royal.

Mum might act like she's high and mighty as you think a ruler would be, unlike the queen who is just perfect for the role.

My thoughts are interrupted when bronce speaks up "yes it's going very well actually, father is doing great. He is a judge you see and mums the lawyer. Mum offered me a position as her...second you could say yet she doesn't need it. We win every case."

Oh I'm sure, cause that set up sounds right.

"Wonderful, isn't it dear" mum says looking at me for a response. "Yes it is, how long have you been working for then?" I ask bronce totally uninterested.

"Well actually, I start tomorrow" He says slightly shy. Well so much for your successful occupation which hasn't even started yet, I think.

Then I hear my dad chuckle and my mum gasp. "Don't be so rude" mum says holing her hand to her chest like I have fired a gun into her chest.

"Didn't realise I said that out loud, my apologies" I say and tip my head in the direction of bronce who is quite red in the face.

"No apologies needed" he assures snapping out of his blush. "True I haven't started yet, but we haven't lost one lawsuit and where not going to start once I officially sign up."

"But-" I'm cut off by mum speaking up "that's quite enough Cordelia." I loath the name, I hate it. Makes me sound so high and mighty and just first class.

"No it's quite alright I'm interested actually in what she has to say" bronce says.

I don't believe I've quite out stepped my self before and I think being miss perfect should end here.

"Well if you say so-" mother cuts me off like she knows I'm about to slip up "I don't think that's necessary". Then bronce speaks up "no, no I insist please go on."

He insists, I guess I must.

"You haven't lost one lawsuit as I've heard" he nods in confirmation and I shake my head "but I don't think that title suites your...case" I say and come to a stop for him to say "how so" a slight frown on his face.

"Having a judge and lawyer mother of course it's been set up, whatever case your mother has, he's the judge correct. Therefore how can you loose when your on the same side."

"Cordelia that's enough! Right now!" Mum shouts in out rage but mostly shock, I'm sure. I haven't spoken out off term ever so I'm sure she's had the shock of a century.

"Gladly, father may I be excused from the table" dad winks at me and when mum looks over at him his smile vanishes. "Yes of course".

With that I say a quick goodbye to bronce and a good night to mother and father and walk quickly to get out of the dinning room.

After the dining rooms closed I run up the stairs to my room. I'm sick of these stairs too! There's definetly more than a hundred.

Once I'm in my room I close the door behind me and slid down to the floor. "Happy birthday to me, yip pee. Wow now sarcasm, soon I'll be rapping and slouching at the table too." I smile that wouldn't be bad at all.

My wish this year is to have fun, not the kind that's planned and halfway through your bored because there end up being speeches. But the fun where you don't now what's going to happen next. Sometimes be a little stupid, make mistakes and have real fun.
