a complete and utter joke

Chapta 2- a complete and utter joke.

I wake up as usually, 7am. As mother says the highest of birds rise with the sun, even though the sun usually sets by 6am.

Time to get downstairs and face the consequences of my mum I'm sure. She'll be disappointed to a degree as I've always obeyed her...commands.

I walk into the bathroom and brush my teeth, I find no point in having a shower since I had one last night.

I wash my face and add a touch of makeup, just some powder foundation and a little mascara.

I walk over to my walk in wardrobe and tsk. I really have nothing my age. No pumps, no tight short sleeve dresses and no jeans or plain old t-shirts.

I think it's time for a wardrobe change, and soon to.

I grab my skirt which goes down to my knees and looks like I'm going on a businesses trip and match that with a white button down shirt.

I just take out the hair tie and fluff it up with my hands a bit to give it some volume. Then I drab my phone and slip it into my skirt, it's tight enough around the waist to hold it up.

Then I start by leaving my room to go down the stairs where I'm sure I'll become the prey infront off car headlights.

Once I get down stairs I open the door...well I would of if it wasn't opened for me. We seriously have to many...maids and butlers.

I walk into the dining room giving a thankful nod to the lady who opened the door and joined my mother and father who was already at the table.

"Cordelia" my dad nods at me then continues eating his well planned out breakfast. Then I look down to my plate which is still warm.

Eggs, bacon, tomato, mushroom, onion, spinach, sausages, brown toast and potato tots, on my plate and a little tea cup accompanying it.

I pick up more fork and start to eat knowing like everyday there's no way I was going to eat all this as it was made for an army.

My complements to the chef always.

Then my mother decides to speak up while where all still on the table and finished as much as we can eat.

"Cordelia" pause and a big breath "what has come over you? You have never act so...well bluntly putting it, so god damn rude!" She finishes.

"I was speaking my opinion and I'm sure we were all thinking the same, how can you fail when you are the one who's setup the cards to ensure you'll win the game" I say astonished that I'm still speaking up and out.

"Its not about what we were thinking, even if it is true its still rude. Definetly not how a lady is supposed to act especially why she's trying to find a man, a husband no doubt" she says sighing and shaking her head.

"But that's the thing...isn't it? I'm not trying to find a man, nor a husband. Your the one that's looking for those things, I haven't been trying to find anyone you have" I say annoyed. I don't want an arranged kind of marriage, I want to find love on my own.

How can I even find a decent enough man when I'm wrapped in money? A life this is, I want hardships. Its sounds amazing to cruise through life, but there's no challenge...no fun.

"You want a husband yes? A man that will treat you good, one that will have a good amount of wealth to take care of you and your needs?-" mum continues but I cut her off "Yes! I want a man, who will fall in love with me. I don't want one who will eventually fall in love with me because where already married and our wealth will support each other. I dont care if it helps an investment. I'm done doing dates, I'm done sitting on a thrown of money. I'm done sitting her acting like I'm better than everyone else, because I'm not! You and dad have found your own wealth from the job you have done. Now I want to find mine" I stand up and shake my head.

"I'm going to go shopping, I'm sick of being wrapped up and all this" I say pointing at myself "I'm donating it all to the salvation army".

With that I shake my head and walk past a flabbergasted mother and turn around to see an amused father, trying no to laugh.

At least dad knows I'm telling the truth and accepts it, mother jut wants everything perfect.

I walk over to the dining room door and once again its opened. I walk through dating "thankyou and complements to the chef, if you will" which the lady smiles brightly and nods.

I walk upstairs and again I hate them, to long, to fancy.

I open the door to my room and walk in, I rush straight over to the walk in closet and grab all the hangers of and start bringing them over to my bed along with all the sleeves. The only thing I keep is the scarf's.

Then I walk over to my bell which I haven't used in...well ever. I don't like burdening the maids, but since its for a good cause. Well actually I'm being selfish and making it slightly acceptable giving away my clothes even though I'll shop for a whole new wardrobe.

I ring the bell and in less then 2 minute a maids up, knocking on my fully opened door saying "yes miss". I nod and wave her over "I want all of this delivered to the salvation army after you and and other member of staff has picked what they want".

She's stunned and her eyes go wide "I just, I cou-" I cut her off "please do, I'm done with all of it honestly. Its ok to have one or two formal wear but to have all this, I just want to get some normal t-shirts have some jeans and shorts" she nods and smiles brightly.

She nods and says "I'll let the lady's know" then she hurrys to the door and I call out "oh and if you wanted to go shopping with me...? I'll pay you of course" her eyes widen even more, "yes of course, I'd love to. You don't have to pay me for taking me out to go shopping miss" I shake my head "I want to, let's leave in....30 minutes? Oh and call me Cordelia not miss."

She nods and scurrys off. Well time to go shopping, hopefully I'll have a normal wardrobe by the end of the day.
