A/N: Bringing this book back from the dead finally lol

Third person

Red was sitting at the edge of the lake, looking up at the stars and sinking into her own sadness. She had just lost all her Grammy nominations and was heartbroken, she felt disappointed in herself, as If she had failed on being a good album or era. Her mind was shattered into pieces as she held tears back.

Speak Now was searching for her after Fearless said she saw Red leave sad, she spotted her friend and walked up to her.

SN: Red?

Red’s heart lighted up a little by recognising Speak's voice, she knew she wasn't alone, and her presence always brought a comfort she couldn't explain well.

Red: Speaks?

Asked her, watching her younger friend approach her slowly and walk to her until they were side to side.

SN: Hey… what are you doing here?

She questioned calmly, wondering what would have made Red run to the cold lake on her own.

Red: I'm sad.

She sighed out, wiping out some tears that threatened to leak out of her eyeballs.

SN: Why?

Questioned cautiously again, sitting on Red's side with an evident glint of concern on her look.

Red: Because I lost the Grammys.

Stated her while looking at the sky again, her chest aching from the pain she held inside her heart.

SN: I know you're sad, Redy, but that's something you couldn't have changed.

She said in a soothing manner, being firm and calm as she spoke.

Red: Really?

She looked at her in slight doubt, she had never been comforted that way, she didn't fully believed Speak Now could care about her that deeply.

SN: You worry too much about things you can't change, and being honest you'll spend your whole life singing sad songs if you keep thinking that way.

Red sighed, recognising she was wrong but not thinking she could do different.

Red: Okay, I will think differently.

Speak noticed Red still had doubts about how much she meant her words, so she made sure to reassure her.

SN: It's for your own well, I don't wanna see you sad.

She said cupping one of Red's cheeks, running her thumb on the still wet skin while feeling the warm touch of her soft skin. Red smiled, surprised that she was cared about for real.

Red: So you really care about me?

SN: Red, you're my best friend, of course i do.

Red smiled wider and pulled her in, putting her arm around SN's shoulders as they both sat together and looked at the stars. Speak Now felt a burning feeling grow to her cheeks.

Red: Are you blushing?

Speak blushed even harder, being caught off guard.

SN: N-no.

Red didn't want to embarass her, so she ler it go and kept holding her.

Red: The stars are nice, aren't they?

She started, drawn over the light of the stars and completely lost on the huge imensity of the night sky.

SN: Yeah… and the moon too.

They stayed there with a comfortable silence between them, completely at home with the presence of their best friend.

Being honest, Speak Now has been feeling different lately, she's feeling things with Red which she had never before with anyone else. She wanted to be with her all the time, to feel her touch, to be loved by her and love her as well. She didn't knew what it was, could it be love?

Red: Do you see the starlight?

She said with a smile, glad to experience a soft moment like that with her friend.

SN: Yeah, I noticed I've been way happier since you showed up.

Confessed her, not paying much attention to what she was saying, only speaking up what she had stuck in the depths of her heart.

Red: I'll stay.

She chuckled out, feeling a warmth on her chest as Speak Now laid her head on her shoulder, enjoying the cozy contact.

SN: Please do.

The older girl smiled and closed her eyes, feeling the cold night wind hit her face, relaxing and letting the moment take away all her sorrows.

Red: I love looking at the stars.

Speak agreed mad sneaked a hand on Red's lap, taking a hold of one of her warm hands in hers tensely, she wasn't fully sure that Red was comfortable with it, but she was up to trying. Red made sense of her name and got blushed.

Red: I like the feel of your hand in mine.

She said while intertwining their fingers together, running her thumb on the back of her hand. Speak Now got happy with the acceptance of her touch.

SN: Then I'll keep holding it.

Red: Thanks.

They both stood with more comfortable silence, being happy and calm in that intimate moment.

But even though they were in a perfect moment, Speak Now couldn't help but question what she was feeling at that moment. It did feel like love, but she couldn't believe she actually was in love.

SN: Red, how do you know you love someone?

She questioned, trying to be subtle and not let Red know she suspected she was in love with her.

Red: Well, I'm not an expert in love, but maybe it's when someone makes you really happy.

Speak Now looked up at her again, mesmerised by her sight. Red had a dreamy look in her eye, her electric blue eyes directing at hers and her scarlet red lips curved into a smile. The wind blew her hair back but without messing her blonde locks. She looked so perfect that she had no doubt anymore.

SN: I think I’m in love.

Red smiled out.

Red: That 's nice.

What Red didn't understand was, Speak Now was in love with her. Not anyone else, no one in her life felt like she did, perfect, kind, sweet, nice, smart… Red was someone Speak Now only dreamed about but finally found.

I think I love you.

Speak Now thought to herself

They chatted for a while longer while skipping rocks at the lake.

Red: I really like you, Speaks.

She laughed out, watching her rock skip on the clear water and smiling sweetly at her friend.

SN: I like you too.

Red then hugged her, holding her close while Speak had her body frozen. She was in love and it was no lie, but being held that way got her feeling head over heels.

She couldn't help it and jumped on Red, hugging her so tight that the two girls fell on the ground, still hugging very tight and giggling with their faces close.

SN: I love you- as a friend of course.

She explained, she couldn't let Red know she loved her so soon.

Red: I love you too.

Speak Now now had a mission: Love Red and make Red love her.
