Game day. But it's not just any game. It's my first game back in Denver, as an opponent. I was nervous about what reaction I would receive from the crowd. I was expecting boo's, that's for sure. I didn't leave Colorado on the best of terms. All because of one night I regret more than anything.
The night I spent with Semyon Varlamov, my former teammate. I cheated on Gabe, the man of my dreams, for one meaningless night of passion. Through therapy, I have learned to try to forgive myself. What's done is done. I just know if I could take it all back, I definitely would.
I slowly open my eyes, lying in bed next to Gabe and waking up beside him. I flew into Denver a few days earlier, knowing both of our teams had an off stretch. Gabe and I agreed to take things slow, until we didn't. We picked up right where we left off my first night here, and we haven't stopped since then.
I lie on my side, looking out the bedroom window and seeing the Denver city skyline in the distance. I missed this city so much, but I missed the man snuggled up to me more. The last couple days with Gabe have been absolutely perfect. Reconnecting together and becoming one. I never wanted it to end, but in the back of my mind I knew it needed to. I was bound to go back to Ottawa after tonight's game. What happens to us then? We both have avoided this conversation for as long as we could, just soaking in the company of each other.
Groaning from behind me is Gabe, feeling him start to become restless as he awakens from his slumber. His strong arms tighten around my waist, pulling my naked body closer to his. His soft lips kiss my bare shoulder, sending a spark of electricity through my spine.
"Good morning," Gabe mumbles, nestling his head into my shoulder.
"Gabe, we really need to talk," I whisper, feeling him sigh behind me.
"I know we do. But can we just enjoy this moment for a little longer?" Gabe questions, his voice falling flat.
I remain silent, allowing our bodies to nestle together, feeling his heartbeat against my upper back. I didn't want to leave him. Not again. But the show must go on.
I roll over to face him, seeing his crystal blue eyes stare through mine. He bites his lip in apprehension. He knew this had to end, too. Neither of us wanted it to.
"What now?" Gabe whispers, bringing his thumb to my face and grazing my cheek.
"You tell me," I whisper back, feeling my eyes begin to water.
"I don't want to get in the way of your dream. Not again," he takes a deep breath, moving his thumb up to my eyes and wiping the stray tears away.
"I don't want to leave you," I whimper, feeling him pull me closer to his body.
"I know, I don't want you to either. But Mallory, I don't want to hold you back." Gabe holds me tightly, my head resting against his chest. "You've worked so hard to make your dream a reality. I can't let you give that up for me."
"But what if my dream is right here in front of me?" I look up at him, rubbing my hands against his bare chest.
Gabe forces a smile, kissing my forehead softly.
"I love you more than anything, and if that means letting you go, then that's what I have to do." Gabe whispers, tracing his thumb across my bottom lip. "What's meant to be always comes back."
I knew he was right, I just didn't want to admit it. Hell, we are both still young, and I honestly didn't know how long my body could last in the National Hockey League. I'm surprised I even survived all my injuries my rookie season. Now the hits are getting harder and more dangerous. It's only a matter of time before a serious injury happens.
"You know I'll always come back to you," I whisper, kissing his thumb as he continues tracing my lip.
"Long distance then?" Gabe suggests, raising his eyebrow at me. "It's going to suck for a while, but we will have the offseason together."
"As long as I have you." I reach my hand to the back of his head, pulling him down to kiss me.
My fingers grip his thick blonde hair as I feel his hands move to my waist. He rolls over onto his back as I begin to straddle him. Gabe digs my fingers into my hips, causing me to moan softly into our kiss. I could feel his erection already spring up. I chuckle into the kiss as I move my hips forward, sliding down onto his erection.
"Oh, so we're fucking?" Gabe chuckles, soon moaning as I begin to move up and down on him.
"You're acting like you're surprised," I smirk at him, biting his lip, feeling him smack my ass in response.
"You're so fucking sexy when you take charge," Gabe moans as I begin to move my lips to his neck, nibbling on his tender skin.
"Don't make me do all the work now," I whisper seductively as I begin to nibble his earlobe.
Gabe growls as he flips me over onto my back, throwing my legs over his shoulders. It caught me by surprise, but holy shit. Gabe thrusts in and out of me, hard and fast. The headboard begins to slam against the wall. His name falls off my lips in loud moans, my back arching up from the mattress. I begin to whimper as my legs shake on his shoulders. Gabe smirks at me, knowing exactly what effect he has on me. He moves his mouth to my thigh, kissing and biting my skin. Feeling his beard and his teeth against me is sending me over the edge.
"Gabe, I'm going to cum," I moan loudly, gripping onto the mattress for dear life.
"Cum for me, baby," he moans, sending me into my climax.
I begin to scream his name in ecstasy, sweat dripping from his forehead and on to my body. He continues to thrust hard and fast, going deeper every time.
"Good girl," Gabe smirks at me, grabbing my ass and spanking it. "Oh, fuck."
Gabe moans my name one last time before collapsing on top of me. Our sweaty bodies tangled up together, hearts pounding against each others. We both lay there, desperately attempting to catch our breath.
"A good little fuck before we become enemies tonight on the ice," Gabe smirks at me, kissing my cheek.
"You know I'm going to be distracted now," I giggle, catching my breath and wiping off the sweat from his forehead.
"So will I, my love. So will I." Gabe replies, soon pushing his body off of mine. "Time to get ready for morning skate."
I sit up in the bed, pulling the sheet over my breasts. He rolls out of bed, putting on his clothes from the night before. I take in the beauty in front of me. This man was absolute perfection.
"Like what you see?" Gabe notices me staring at him, purposefully flexing his muscles.
"How do you keep getting sexier every time I look at you?" I blush, hiding my face behind the sheet.
Gabe walks back over to me, removing the sheet from me, cupping my face with his hands and kissing me.
"Gotta give you something to remember me by," Gabe whispers.
"I love you, Gabe," I whisper in between kisses.
"I love you more, Mallory." Gabe replies, before we pull apart from each other and begin our day.
A/N: first update in over two years. I just have all the Gabe feels again since he is in his comeback era!
