"Jordan wake up! We're here!"
Lisa and I were trying to get Jordan up but he was out stone cold. He had drove last night till the sun peaked over the prairies edge and then I offered to drive the rest of the way. We were currently sitting in the Becker's driveway. I was supposed to be heading straight to the Kohl's house but I had to drop off Lisa and Jordan. Lisa got out and started hauling their stuff into their house as I got out and opened Jordan's door. He had been leaning on it and I caught him just before he hit the pavement.
"What the heck was that for?"
"Trying to wake you up. Your home."
"Oh why didn't you just say my name then?"
"We did, repeatedly" I said with a chuckle.
"Oh," he said as he got out.
We unpacked their stuff in silence. Once everything of theirs was in the house I gave them each a hug and thanked them for everything. Lisa gave me a tight hug as tears rolled down her cheeks. She left to go tell her husband she was home. Jordan just looked at me with an intensity that I couldn't resist. I leaped into his arms and his lips were soon on mine and I couldn't get enough of him. His tongue danced with mine as I tasted his sweet lips. He pushed me up against the side of the truck and wrapped his arms around my waist making no space in between our bodies. I broke away for air and put my head against his chest panting for air. He was clearly out of breath too. Words weren't needed for those few moments. Once I could breath easy I spoke quietly.
"I need to go. I'm sorry i wish i could stay but it's time for me to go to my new home."
"I know. I want to go with you but you need to do this on your own. Your strong Danny, I love you."
"I love you too Jordan," I barely made out before he pressed his lips to mine only this wasn't a kiss that was hungry for more it was soft and delicate as if to say words that could never even be spoken. I pulled away and climbed into the truck and started it. I gave him one last kiss before pulling out of the drive. He watched me the whole way till my truck disappeared down the drive till I couldn't see him anymore. I watched out the window as I drove across the town I grew up in. It felt nice to be home but the feeling was different. It was as if my old life was tucked away with most of the memories and a new life began. I got to the driveway of the Kohl's home and started up the long dirt road. They lived up Dawson Ranch. I would now be living in the newer part of town where the 'rich' folks lived. Only now I was considered one. I pulled into the front of the house and turned the truck off and stared at the three story house in front of me. My new home till I could move out on my own. I looked into the window of the front door and saw my Siberian husky Oakley staring at me with big blue eyes. Seeing her urged me to rush up to the door which is exactly what I did. I opened the door and wrapped my arms around her. She licked my face and whined with happiness that I was finally home. I got up off the floor and she stuck by my side as I looked up to Rhonda and Todd looking at me with a calm assurance. I ran to them and they both hugged me. We were now a family. A sort of broken one but we were somehow all connected in a way. We hugged and whispered small things to each other before breaking apart. Todd hugged my shoulders again before setting back down into his chair while looking at me. Just as I was about to say something I heard yipping outside and quickly remembered about Shiloh. I turned around and ran out to the truck and brought her inside. Oakley immediately welcomed her with a wagging tail and a happy face. Shiloh greeted her back and soon they both were playing with an old toy of Harley's.
"Danny were so glad your finally here. How was your trip?"
"It was ok. Long and tiring but I'm finally home so it wasn't terrible. How have you guys been?"
