Chapter 7

{Recap of Chapter 6}

"Me, Nessa. I'm T-Ray."

Vanessa POV

I was shocked as I heard those words come out of his mouth. We've been dating for almost a month now and he didn't tell me that he was a drug lord? Who would keep a secret like that?

"So you're the infamous T-Ray." I say being sarcastic.

"Nessa I can explain, I didn't think you were ready for that kind of info--" I cut him off.

"We're in a relationship! A relationship means loyalty, trust, and honesty! I can't believe you would hide a secret like that." I walk off.

"Nessa, I wanted to tell you but I don't want to involve you in any of my mess. I want us to be happy together! Do you think I wanted to hide a secret like that from you? The life I live is too hard for you to handle. I just needed a girl like you by my side to get me through all of this. Please forgive me, I'll tell you anything you wanna know, just please don't give up on me."

I realize he's been following me the whole time I've been walking away, pleading his case to me. Feeling guilty, I stop in my tracks and turn around.

"How do I know that you won't lie to me again Travis? I actually liked you more than anyone. You were something special because you treated me like a queen. But you lied to me." I say tearing up.

"Baby, Please don't cry. I'm so sorry for lying to you, but you can't just tell anybody anything these days... especially if you're a dealer. I want you... I need you to stay by my side. He says getting worried.

"Why do you need me? You're living the life as a dealer, making good money, right? You can have any girl, why me?" I say crying.

"Vanessa, you're different! I've never had love at first sight until I saw your beautiful face. You're my ride or die, my friend, and my girlfriend. And I love you with all of my heart. One more chance?" He says holding my hands.

"No more secrets? Promise me."

"Anything for you, I love you"

"I love you too." I hug & embrace him.

It seems as if we never argued. But enough about us... I still need to find out what happened to my cousin. I walk back inside.

Travis POV

We made up like it never happened. I love that girl so much. I'm glad that she knows now. I never should've kept it from her. I blame myself for it being handled that way though.

"BZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZ BZZZZ" my phone started going off.

- ya

?- this Kris, I gotta make a run for $16,000

- Oh ight how much he want

Kris- 8 pounds & 5 E.Z pills

- E.Z. ? Ian got no more left, I gotta get some.

Kris- Its ight, I got 29 pills outta 30

- oh fr? What happened to the other pill

Kris- I used it for some..... I gotta go.

- ight, hmu when you finished

After the phone convo, I walk back inside the hospital & go to Sky's room. When I came in, the doctor came in behind me and walked over to Vanessa.

"Well Mrs. Morgan, Skylar had one dose of emphezene in her system which is the amount of one pill. I don't understand where she can get this kind of drug. Its not that often that someone overdoses from it because emphezene had a recall on it due to this kind of problem. But we're not sure when she will wake up but we're greatful that its only one pill. Two or more would have caused suffocation, causing her heart to stop completely.

As the doctor finished, I thought to myself. Kris was the only one in that house with E.Z. and I know Sky wouldn't overdose herself. I know damn well ... oh hell no.

Isaiah POV

I finally find room 236. I walk in and see her, laying there almost lifeless. Walking closer, I see bruises on her face. Who did this to her? Let me find out. She's still beautiful to me.

"Hey Sky... its Isaiah. I missed you this morning at school, couldn't even finish my work without you. Imma visit you everyday after school. I wish you would wake up so I can tell you how much I lo--- what am I doing? I mean how much I miss you. Get better soon beautiful." As I said that, I get up and kissed her forehead and walked out. Did I just do that? I think I did.

Is Sky going to live?
