AUBREY
Lamont was at the shop, so I decided to stop by and share my good news with him. I walked in and saw Miss Kyia staring me down. I smiled and headed in the back. Lamont was just finishing up a tattoo. The guy shook his hand and left.
"Wassup shawty, what you doing here?"
"I had some good news and I wanted to share it with you in person."
"Word, wassup?" He asked placing money in his pocket.
"I found two new store managers and also a magazine wants to feature me."
"I'm proud of you, real shit. You a black woman and you doing your thing baby girl."
He stared at me. I was happy with him and I'm glad he supported me through everything.
"Let's go celebrate then baby girl."
He begin cleaning up his tools and fixing up the room.
"I'll meet you at my place." I stood.
"OK."
On my way out, I simply waved at Kyia as she rolled her eyes.
AUSTIN
Lisa woke me up out my sleep and stated she was headed out. Today was my day off and the only thing I wanted to do was stay in.
"Where you going now Lisa?"
"Baby shower shopping."
"We don't even know what we're having yet."
"I know that."
"Alright Lisa." She kissed my cheek, and went on.
After she left I couldn't sleep much, so I rose from the bed. I made it up and headed inside the bathroom. In the middle of washing my face, I notice an extra toothbrush. Several thoughts begin to flood my mind. My ringing phone interrupt my thoughts.
"Hello."
"Austin?"
"Yes, who is this?"
"It's Amber, can we meet at Urban Cup."
It took me a while before I agreed to go. After I showered, I threw on my khaki cargo shorts, with a white vneck and a pair of white forces. I grabbed my keys and headed out.
Urban Cup was atleast five minutes away. Traffic was crazy, because it was Saturday and people were out shopping.
"Why would they put this place in a outdoor mall anyway." I asked myself.
I finally found a parking spot and walked inside Urban Cup. It was nobody in here. A few minutes later, Amber was walking through the door.
"May I help you guys?"
"Can I have strawberry yogurt with pineapples."
"Size?"
"Medium, you want something?" Amber asked.
I shook my head.
"5.12"
I pulled out my card and paid for her yogurt. We sat at the table and she begin talking.
"I'm sorry for what happen that night, I should have never kissed you but I don't regret any of it." She smiled.
I rubbed my hand over my face. This conversation is not going how I thought it was. I need to focus on my wife.
AMBER
Him not saying anything said everything. I stood up and threw my untouched yogurt in the trash. As I pushed the door open, I heard him call after me. I reached for my keys and rushed to my car. What did I think anyway, he was a married man after all. I got inside my car and sped off. Times like this I would call Aubrey, but this is her brother and I can't say anything yet.
