What Might Have Been (Eren X Mikasa)

Memories

          This is taking place the same time Eren left his house, running to where Mikasa and her Mom is at the gardening shop.  Then for some reason, a garbage can was rolling down the street, I think you can take a guess on where that is heading to.  Anyway, Mikasa and her mom exited the shop and her mom said, "Promise me you'll be ok, and call me once you get to college."  "Okay mom."  said Mikasa.  then her mom cried and said, "i'm so proud of you, my baby girl is all grown up.  where has my little girl gone to?"  "Well, I made it through the world because of you, mom." smiled Mikasa.  then Mom remembered, "OH! I almost forgot." she handed out a letter, and she said, "Your last paycheck!"  then sad or romantic music was playing in the background, and Mikasa said, "Thank you mom, I love you!" 

As Mikasa was putting her paycheck in her wallet, a picture fell out, and she said, "Whoops!"  she picked it up, then her eyes widened, and it was a picture of Eren a few years earlier.  Then she began to sang:

                                        I wanted you to see me, but for so long you were blind

                                  Now it's time to face tomorrow, and leave all that stuff behind

                            Of what would our lives have been like, if you'd just given me a sign

                              Because I like you more than every other, thing I like combined

                                            I  spent so many summers, hoping something would begin

Then as Mikasa drove off, Eren was still running, and he made it to the Gardening shop, as he was about to enter, he stopped, then he exhaled and entered the shop and was greeted by Mikasa's mom and said, "Eren, honey how are you?"  Then Eren answered and said, "Hi Mrs. Ackerman, um, is Mikasa here?"  Then her mom said, "No i'm sorry sweetie, she's gone." Then Eren said, "Gone like, driving car to school, gone?" "Yes, you just missed her, it's too bad you didn't get to see her off, you know, since you were kids she's had a huge crush on you." said Mrs. Ackerman.  then Eren sighed and said, "I wish I had known, and I wish that the rest were joking."  then he left the shop, and Mrs. Ackerman frowned.  then Eren began walking home, and began to sang as well:

                                          I can't believe that all this time you, never said a word

                                            Although it's possible you did, and I just never heard

                                                I never even noticed, I guess I wasn't that alert

                                            But I must that in retrospect, you were being quite overt

                                         And now our endless summers, is finally coming to an end

                                                           I tried to make the most of everyday

                                                                 But now the years just seem misspent

The song still continued, with flashbacks of the past, when mikasa and eren were kids.  more flashbacks, and then the song continued with Mikasa and Eren singing, but not at the same time:

                                                              Mikasa: I could have been your girlfriend

                                                                Eren: I could have been your fella

                                                                 Eren: We might have been an item

                                                      Mikasa: they would have called us; Eremika

                                                      Eren: I would have held the door for you

                                                            Eren: I would have shared my umbrella

                                                  Mikasa: You could have held my hair back

                                                         Mikasa: When I was sick with salmonella

                                                                    Choir: Sick with salmonella

                                  Both: We could have been together, all you had to say was "when"

               Both: And though I wanted to much more I guess you'll always be my friend

                                                                     Both: What might have been

As mikasa was driving, leaving Trost the song starting to end,

 

                                                                   Both: What might have been

Then Mikasa sighed and she said, once again, "What might have been."
