Joining the ALDC

Chapter 5

Tears started to form in my eyes. Next thing I know, I'm full out crying. I ran into the bathroom where no one could find me. I went into a stall and closed the door. I put my feet up on the seat and cried my eyes out. Unfortunately after a few minutes of crying. The bathroom door opened. I didn't know who it was. I just sat there in silence. Then I heard the girls voice. "Jenna? Are you in here?" It was Chloe. I recognized her voice immediately. I took a deep breath. "In here Chloe." She opened the door to my stall. She ran to me and hugged me. I cried on her shoulder. "Jenna!" She laughed. "It's only a dance competition! You don't have to get so upset!" I smiled and let go. "Chloe, Abby is gonna kill me." She laughed again. "Jenna, I've lost to Maddie millions of times." Me and Chloe walked back to the dressing room together. I felt so much better. I walked to my mom who hugged me. Then started taking off my make up.
We went to the dance studio. Then me and my mom drove home. Right when we got in the house I went to my bed. In fact, I didn't even take off my costume. When I woke up, I noticed my face was wet. Have I been crying? I guess I was. That's weird. I went downstairs for breakfast. Chocolate Chip Pancakes. They were really good. I decided to text Bella and Syd. Bella was my best friend. Syd, she was a close friend to me. I made a group chat with them and asked them to come over and swim. We have a in ground pool in our back yard. They both said yes. I went up to my bedroom and put on my mint green lace swimsuit that I absolutely love. I threw my hair into a bun and called it good. I went downstairs to prepare some snacks. After I heard a knock at the door. It was Syd. I opened it and asked her to come in. She ran to me and hugged me. "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE ON DANCE MOM'S JENNA!" I rolled my eyes. I knew this would happen. All of my friends have been texting me like crazy and some people who don't like me at school are texting me. I liked it, but it's getting annoying. Me and Syd took some pictures and I posted one. Next thing you know, Syd got 10k followers. We waited for Bella for about 10 minutes before she came knocking on the door also. We went outside and I pushed in Syd who screamed and yelled at me. Then Bella pushed me in and I was mad too. Next we set up my phone on on a beach chair, and set it for 10 seconds then we jumped in and got a picture in mid air. "Jenna! You should invite Chloe over to hang with us!" I looked at her. "I don't know, maybe later." Syd gave me a look. "Invite Maddie. She's better than Chloe." I put on a straight face. "I'm not inviting ether of them." Bella saw I was upset and helped me. "Okay, maybe next time!" I smiled. After Syd and Bella went home, it was about 8:00pm already. I decided to go to sleep since dance was tomorrow. I was reading a book and the next thing you know, I'm alseep. I woke the next morning to find my mom shaking me "Jenna! Wake up! Time for dance!" I groaned. After I got ready, we left. When we got there, Chloe ran to me. "Hey Jenna!" I hugged her. "Hello Chloe!" She smiled. "Guess what!" "What?" I asked. "I'm having a party! And your invited!" I pretty much screamed. "You thank you so much Chloe!" She smiled. Then we went in Studio A for pyramid. Abby was standing there. Smiling. We all lined up, and Abby started talking. "On the bottom," I braced myself. "Jenna, you didn't beat Maddie." I nodded. Next was Mackenzie, Paige, Nia, Brooke, Chloe, and on the top, Maddie. Then we started working on the group dance. Chloe was doing a leap and she landed on her leg. She got hurt. Badly. She started to cry and then she screamed once. I cringed. I ran to her. "Chloe! Are you okay?" She shook her head. Next thing I know Christi comes running in. "Chloe, let's go where going to the hospital." Chloe kept crying. I felt so bad for her. We did the group dance without her. The next day, Chloe was in the Dancers Den, with a boot on her foot. "How's the foot Clo?" I asked. She said it wasn't broken, but she bruised a bone. Chloe couldn't dance for a week. Great. Chloe was the lead in the group dance. Who was gonna get the lead now? Probably Maddie. I walked into Studio A and Abby was standing by the cheese mat. She had a mad look on her face. Chloe walked in with her boot and Abby sighed. "Well Chloe we all know you are longer lead of the group dance. Chloe nodded. Abby looked at Maddie. I looked at the floor. "Jenna!" Abby said. I looked up. "You are the lead of this group dance." My eyes became as big as two sunny side up eggs. Maddie's face was glum. I felt bad. She probably thinks I am invading her spot. After we rehearsed the group dance, we all went home. I asked Paige and Chloe if they wanted to come over my house to a sleepover. They both said sure. We all went to my house ate pizza for dinner. Then we stayed up till 1:30am. Oops. Then next day we all went to dance and we rehearsed the group and got on the bus for competition. We were going to Ohio where the Candy Apples live.
