~Lesson: 16~

"That's why 'x' equals zero."
I drew more mathematical signs and then ended the equation.
My students wrote down these notes
fairly quickly before looking back up at the chalk board again.
Out of my own curiosity, I looked over at Ciel to only find him just staring out the window.
I sighed heavily at this sight. I'm trying my hardest, not really but still caring, to reteach this lesson and Ciel isn't even trying to make an effort.
"Ciel, would you like to explain what is so interesting out that window to the rest of the class?"
I called him out.
The rest of the students turned to Ciel who just continued staring out the window.
"Freedom.....that is very interesting and it is outside this window."
The class giggled at the Earl and I huffed quietly.
"Please pay attention in class Ciel--"
"I already know all this math. I've been tested on this grade level more than three times already."
He interrupted still, staring out the window.
The class gasped and looked at Ciel with wide eyes and whispered amongst each other.
Luckily I'm very patient with students.....not so much weirdo spiders...
"Ciel, it is fair for you to pay attention along with the rest of the class even if you passed this grade level already."
I stated before turning to the board.
"Nothing in life is fair. So why even bother?"
Ciel Phantomhive is quite persistent...
"Ciel, if life is unfair to all of us, doesn't that mean life is fair?"
I questioned him with a nasty smirk as I turned to the chalk board.
I heard a huff behind me and the creaking of a desk which gave me no doubt that he's turned to the board.
Kids these days...they've grown such hard skulls. No seriously, Undertaker told me.
The rest of class time was alright.
Not really anymore distractions or anything of the sort.
Well, except for my mind.
Claude Faustus
I haven't seen him at all these past two days. That's abnormal behavior for him.
Usually, I'd except that weirdo spider to be weird around me or at me but all I got was nothing. It's like, he finally got the message to back off....
Yet now, it feels lonely.
This is also weird...
Ugh Claude where the hell are you?!

*r-r-r-iinngg*
"You are all dismissed."
Instead of the shoving past students and papers flying everywhere,
My class walked ever so slowly to the classroom door and out quietly.
Yep, it's Monday. The dreadful day of the week.
I was busy checking off attendance when I heard small feet tapping over to me. I already guessed who it was again, considering that he done this before.
"Mr. Michaelis..."
I looked up to be met face to face with Ciel Phantomhive.
"Yes?" I asked. I wonder what he's trying to pull out his sleeve this time..
"Where's Mr. Faustus?"
I blinked. I've been wondering the same thing. Wait...
'Sebastian, In a couple of days I'll be a different being. Will you accept that?'
So he's a different being now.... I wonder what he is...
"No. I have not seen him the past two days in fact. Out of my curiosity, why would you want to know where he is?"
I turned myself to him with about half my attention focused on him.
Hmm..
If I was teaching myself, this would be very difficult to me. Since I am a smart remark and a talk back...
"I'm just...curious. That's all. Anyways, that's all I wanted to ask."
Ciel turned to the door before walking out.
He's really good at being honest but not so much being a liar.
I see what he's trying to do with Claude and it isn't happening.
Wait what?
Its not like I'm being overprotective of him or anything! It's just that....He's not going to become that!
I guess I am bad at lying too...
-----------------
I walked into our conferencing room only to find him not there either...
What?
I sighed heavily now feeling the air of loneliness in that room.
Apon closing the door, I glanced over at my desk to find a letter envelope with a cat sticker on it.
Is it from Claude?!
I sprinted to my desk and dropped all the paperwork I was holding and snatched up the letter.
Now that I get a better inspection of it,
It is from Claude!
I have no clue to why I was so excited about such a little letter but I ripped it open it and began reading.

'Look behind you Michaelis~'

"Meow~"
I gulped with my eyes wide before turning behind me really quickly.
Nothing.
Huh?
I reread the letter again and did the action....again. Still nothing.
"Meow~"
I looked down to find...a Chartreux cat. Now this is a very rare breed of cats...
This breed has dark smoky grey fur almost like the Russian blue cat except....it's fluffy.
The Chartreux cat also has shiny golden yellow eyes.... that reminds me of Claude.
He patted closer to me and meowed at my feet before bringing up his paw and licking it.
At this moment I realized two divining features about this strange cat.
One, it was wearing glasses and number two,
It had a black collar on with a golden name tag.
This is so cute right know that I resisted long enough to just pick it up and squeeze it to death.
I just now passed my limit.
I quickly snatched up the cutest thing in all of existence and held it close to my chest.
The cat purred with it's eyes closed as I petted him. This was even more cute and it's making me squeal on the inside. No one wants to hear my squealing I'm sure even Claude doesn't want to hear it.
Alas, this cat is already owned for it has that black collar on.
It would be wise to return it back to it's owner...
Speaking of it...
I held the cat with one arm as I reached for the golden name tag.
Once I read it my eyes went wide and I froze completely still.

'Claude Faustus'

Then it licked my cheek.
