A smile formed on my lips and Kamani wiped the final spot of my baby. I was at their house today to help London with something and he offered to do it.
The twins were across the lawn sitting in the hammock. They were almost 2 now but they look older.
"Thank you." I gleamed as he turned off his power wash.
"No problem." He spoke but his tone hinted at something else.
"What is it?" I ask and he looked up.
His eyes diverted to the house before looking back at me.
"Mi wah bring London out fih bout 3 day but mi nuh wah bring the kids them—" He started and I shook my head.
"I can keep them for you." I cut him off. A smile immediately grew on his face.
"Thanks yer."
"No problem."
"Mi aguh pack some clothes fi them but mi nuh wah London know suh yuh can distract har fimi?" He spoke and I nod.
I'm happy to see how our relationship has evolved within the two years. I no longer feel intimidated whenever I'm around him.
Now in their living room, I took a seat beside London who was watching a series on Netflix.
She looked over at me with a smile before returning her gaze to the TV. I guess I don't have to do anything.
A few minutes passed and Kamani walked inside signaling to me that he was finished.
"Mi aguh leave now London, mi have some things fi sort out." I tell her and she nods.
Placing kisses on each other's cheeks, I got up and exited the space. As I walked outside I could see the twins already situated in the car seats.
Entering the front seat, I closed the door and started the car. * 📍Emancipation Park 🕓4:43p
