Malorie's POV

"you are dismissed." Mrs. Williams announces, shoeing us out of the class room.

I nonchalantly step out of my seat and throw my bag over my shoulder. I noticed that It felt a lot lighter than before. strange. hurriedly I made my way out of the classroom before Luke did, not really wanting to be left alone with him.

-

the walk to my bus stop wasn't very long but it was enough to tire me out, so me being me, I sat down on the bench outside the shelter.

a short buzz caught my attention, it was coming from the backpack that slumped beside me. I quickly looked over at the bag and immediately recognized it.

shit.

Luke's POV

"hey! you, what do you think you're doing? smoking isn't allowed on school grounds Hemmings!" Mrs. Williams
shouted. "you, detention. now."

"first time I've heard that in awhile." I scoffed back at her.

the whole walk to the detention room Mrs. Williams was giving me some kind of dumb ass lecture about how smoking is bad for your health. I knew smoking was bad, that's partially why I got into the habit.

the door slammed shut behind me and my eyes scanned the room. I was quite shocked to see Malorie Foster sitting in the very back of the the classroom. she already had her eyes on me, looking me up and down in full concentration. I sent her a short glare and looked back down at my worn out converse as I made my way to the desk directly behind her.
mostly just to piss her off.

-

I was awoken by the voice of an old woman telling us we were all dismissed.

a quiet yawn escaped my mouth before I slowly lifted my head off of the desk.
Malorie's ass was the only thing that I could see as she bent down to grab her bag. as much as I didn't like her, I couldn't help but continue staring at the nice view as she scurried out of the room. damn.

finally working up the energy to get up, I grab my stuff and head out.
as I reached down to grab my bag, lifting it off the ground, I noticed it was filled with text books.

what the fuck?

running, I made my way out of the school and to the nearest bus stop.
sure enough there she was standing there like she was expecting me, holding my backpack with her small hands.

"I'm really sorry I thought it was mine and I-"

"I really don't fucking care. It won't happen again," I cut her off. she had a startled look on her face and I almost started laughing. she was clearly intimated by me. "nice ass by the way." after giving her a wink, I turned on my heel and started to walk in the opposite direction she was in.

"I swear you're bipolar or something."
I heard her quiet voice say. I didn't bother looking back to say anything in return.
she really isn't worth my time.
