Yn POV

It was evening already.
Taehyung had gone to get us some drinks because I was literally dying of boredom in this hospital room.
And guess what? This man actually dared to ask if I wanted some wine.

Wine?

Dude, I'm injured, not heartbroken.

Anyway, now Mr. So-Caring is out somewhere, and here I am... bored out of my goddamn mind.

Well, at least I'm recovering fast. I have to. I haven't been to Lee Corporation in two freaking weeks. God knows what chaos is happening there.

And Yeonjun...
He still needs to pay.

I was in my thoughts when the door opened, revealing a nurse.

She wasn't Rina. My nurse who checks up on me.

I frowned slightly.

Yn: Where's Nurse Rina?

I asked, eyeing the tray she was carrying. Syringe. Saline. Usual stuff.

Nurse: Oh, she's... on her break.

the nurse replied quickly, too quickly, as she placed the tray beside the IV stand.

Nurse: I was assigned to check on you.

I blinked at her. Something felt...off. But I couldn't put a finger on it.

Yn: You new here?

I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.

She smiled, fixing the drip.

Nurse: Yeah. Floating between wards today.

Huh. That's not how private rooms work here. Especially mine. I was one of the most heavily guarded patients here, thanks to Taehyung and my special status. They never change staff without security clearance.

But I was tired. Bored. And maybe overthinking. Still, a seed of doubt had sprouted in my gut.

My eyes followed her every movement, trying to catch even the tiniest slip. But she moved smooth, professional - maybe too professional.

Nurse: Alright, I'm just going to adjust your IV a little.

she said.

I hesitated, lips parting slightly to say something. My hand shifted under the blanket out of pure instinct - toward my gun under my bed's mattress.

But then... I stopped.

I didn't have proof.
What if I was wrong?

So I nodded slightly, eyes narrowed, and let her do it.

Big mistake.

Because the moment that fluid entered my vein... my body flared with heat. The dizziness hit like a truck. My limbs turned to lead.

Yn: Wha-!!

I whispered, blinking rapidly.
My vision blurred. I tried to sit up, to move, but the weight was unbearable. My head spun like the walls were closing in.

Fuck. She wasn't new. She wasn't even a nurse.

I turned to grab her, but my body gave up. And darkness swallowed me whole.
