A couple weeks went by of Lynn, Lisa and I hanging out, which then turns into Alex and I hanging out while those two make out on my couch. I had really started to like Alex. He was smart,  laughed at all my dumb jokes, made his own dumb jokes, and not to mention he was gorgeous. We just got along perfectly. If my role of best friend wasn't already taken by Lynn, he would be the first to fill it. We liked the same things, and if we didn't both enjoy it,  it got turned into the butt of a joke against one of us. Alex allowed me to see the true him, where he was laughing and being himself. He was no longer the shy, timid boy who stood in the threshold of Mr. Urie's classroom. Now, He was a beautiful, obnoxious, friend of mine, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

With weekly GSA meetings, everyone in there could see straight through us. They had all known me long enough to know when I liked someone, and I was constantly the punchline. I don't think Alex stopped blushing throughout any of the meetings, but I just patted his thigh and sent him a smile every time someone commented on our friendship. He started eating lunch with us, and was actually in a startling number of my classes, all without me noticing him. It was a great thing though, because that meant I got to spend more time with him.

After a meeting one day, Gee came up to me with their fiery red hair blowing around wildly.

"Hey, Barakat, Can I talk to you real quick?" I nodded and followed them out of earshot of the rest of the group that had yet to leave. "Are you and Gaskarth a couple yet?" They asked accusingly. I shook my head to answer no, but before I could say anything they interrupted. "I wouldn't be so quick to answer, because I'm having a party, and only inviting LGBT couples, and I thought you guys look good together. I've already talked to the two Ls and they want to come, so you should bring your boyfriend. Ask Lynn for the details." Without another word they were off with Frank, their hands clasping and Gee's ass swaying as they walked away. I stood there, shocked. I had just been invited to Gee Way's legendary couples party. It was basically a party to get drunk, make out and start shit. That may sound terrible, but it actually was a party that one could only hope to be invited to. This was my first time ever being invited, because it's the first time I've ever even been perceived to have a boyfriend. I shook my head in disbelief as I walked back over to Lynn and Alex. Conveniently, Lynn was going home with Lisa today, and I was driving Alex to his house. I had him alone for at least 15 minutes. He had been riding with Lynn and I because his house was on my way home, might as well give him a lift. So together, Alex and I walked out to my car. Once we were seated, I didn't start the car. Alex looked over at me questioningly until I started speaking.

"So... you know about Gee Way's parties right?" He nodded, still not getting where I was going with this. I continued, using a cautious tone. "Well, I just got invited to one..."

"Fuck yeah man! Congrats! When is it-"

"We got invited to one actually, because", I took a deep breath, "Gee thinks we are a couple." I finished. His face shifted from one of excitement, to surprise, to concern. He stayed silent for a minute or so, looking deep in thought. He then looked up at me and grinned goofily.

"Well, I for one, want to go to this party. Let's pretend we're dating, just for that night!" He said excitedly. I grinned back at him and started the car. He wasn't angry that people thought we were a thing! I sighed in relief as he texted Lynn and asked her about it, telling her that we were going together. I watched him as he bounced up to his door, giving me a final wave and smile as I drove home. I was secretly super ecstatic at even the prospect of pretending that we were a couple. Lynn was right, I like him. A Lot.

On the day of the party, Lynn and I left school halfway through to go home and get ready. I saw Alex at lunch before we left, and I saw the watchful eye of Gee on us. I quickly leaned over and pecked his cheek, and I saw Gee's eyes carry onto someone else.

"Goodbye my beloved boyfriend!" I stated whimsically as he rolled his eyes at me. Ever since we got invited to the party, we had been playing up being a couple whenever Gee was around, just to secure our invite. I giggled as I left with Lynn. Her gaze was almost worse than Gee's, in the fact that she knew we were lying. She gave me a look as we walked out to the car that was a cross between suspicious, suggestive, and downright mischievous. I simply ignored her and we rode back to her house in silence. She insisted on going home early to get ready, and since I drive her everywhere these days, I had to go along with this too. I parked my car at my house and we walked over to hers. Her parents weren't home, so we walked straight in and up to her bedroom.

"I have absolutely nothing to wear." She stated, throwing the tenth dress on the bed next to me. I groaned as I leaned back with my legs dangling off the edge of the mattress, pulling my phone out to check twitter mindlessly. She continued complaining about how she should do her hair and makeup as I scrolled. Soon enough, Lynn was ready. She got my attention by hitting my phone out of my hand, and onto my face. It hit my forehead with a smack, and a groan from me. But that pain was quickly forgotten as I looked over my best friend. She had a gorgeous black dress on, stopping at mid-thigh, with her hair braided tightly in several braids on the sides of her head, flopping to the side in an extreme part. Her makeup was dark, and laden in black, but tasteful. In short, she looked drop dead gorgeous. I gawked at her as she spun around, doing a little dance for me.

"So, what do you think?" She asked hopefully. I glanced her up and down once more before running over to her and engulfing her in a hug. I hadn't seen her this dressed up in years.

"You look absolutely amazing, Lynn." I said into her ear, as she pushed me off, complaining about how I was wrinkling her dress. I gave a laugh.

"Now we move onto you." She stated simply as she lead me back over to my house, carrying the heels that she was going to wear, because she was already gonna wear them long enough, why kill her feet now? When we got into my room, she did the exact same thing that she did to herself, only to me. Throwing shirt after shirt at me out of my closet, before finally settling on a plain black v-neck, a black button up to leave open over it, and a long necklace that I assume came from he closet. I kept on my classic black skinnies. She then came over to me with hair gel already in her hands and I let her do her worst. When she was done I stood up, glancing into my mirror.

"Holy fuck Lynn." was all I said. I actually looked really nice. She smiled a satisfactory smile as she went downstairs. We were all meeting up at my house so that we could go to the party together in my car. I have to admit, I was a little nervous.
