My eye's open to a familiar ceiling, where wooden beams and white painted ceilings clash for supremacy with one another,  I happen to commonly sleep underneath it all. At this very moment I don't know how long it's been but, I do know I'm not where I was before when I fell unconscious on Gynome's front yard that I remember falling onto. I feel a sudden yet rather plush hand rub my furry head.

"Time to wake up, you." I sit up on my bed looking over to my left where the loving, caring, mother of mine is standing there talking to me in her sweet motherly voice.

"Mom..?" I must of given some sort of funny look at her, because she burst out laughing all of a sudden making me feel a little embarrassed to ask where Gynome might be or if he was even here to begin with. She eventually stops laughing allowing me talk with a smile across her half wolf, vivamal, face.

"Um... is my friend here mom?"
I ask her with uncertainty since I recall how Gynome reacted initially to that fox vivamal and to my transformation but, she still responds joyfully to my question.

"Why, yes of course. Want me to bring him on in here?" I stare at her absolutely astonished to think that Gynome is here, in my house, with my mom aware about it. Maybe she forced him to come here? I nod in response to her fur covered face wanting to know more about what exactly is going on.

"Alrightie, just a minute my little one."
She stops at the door of my bedroom turning around looking at me.

"And remember, don't misuse the shapeshifting ability." Those last words before she left my room lead my right hand to palm my face in disbelief as I deeply sigh in response to such an obvious thing I know all too well.

"Mom... I wouldn't... do that..." I mutter to myself knowing my mom embarrasses me every once in awhile about reminding me what happened this one time in the past I really rather not be thinking about at the moment.

I recall seeing my mom walk out of my bedroom not too long ago to get Gynome. I'm not entirely sure what to expect from him but, for now I at least want to know how I got to my home. Even though I could've asked my mom too but, I personally would prefer to hear it from him a bit more than from a voice that's so pure and kind hearted as my mom's.

"You called for me?" I look over to my left where the entrance of my bedroom was once empty to see my only real human friend, Gynome, with one of the chairs from my home's living room for him to sit on being carried in by him placing it right beside my bed awaiting my permission to sit.

"You would be right." I give him a smirk with my response gesturing for him to sit down doing so as I mutely requested.

"So, I'm gonna guess you want to know what happened huh?" it was as if this sudden tense feeling in the air that was brought upon Gynome's voice gave us into our serious state of minds silencing any goofy thought we were to possibly have. My smirk has long since faded away off my face.

"That, and how you are more accepting of my true appearance?" I notice Gynome being rather casual about it leaning back in the wooden chair looking up at the ceiling, appearing a bit unsure of how to appropriately react to a friend who once thought to be human as if he's trying to come up with the best response that wouldn't hurt me emotionally.

"Your mom-... she explained it to me. Something about... how you are an evolved animal species called a "vivamal?" And that you can be part of society or choose not too? At least that's what I recall her saying. I don't know if it's right or not but, whatever you guys are it sure caught me off guard initially." I keep looking at him with curiosity of his current feelings while he still proceeds to look at the ceiling avoiding eye contact with me, maybe it's easier for Gynome to talk by not looking at me like this I cannot tell for certain.
