Chapter 8

"Hey, shuffle over."

Alyson glanced up at the opening of the tent where Lucas hovered. He nudged his head to the side, hinting for her to move to the side a bit. Alyson scooted over and Lucas slowly sat down and tried to make himself comfortable in his spot before lying down with his arm as his pillow. The tent was cramp and tight and there was barely much space to move.

Alyson stayed as far away as she could from Lucas's body. They were much, much closer than they normally were in bed. It was silent for a while before she suddenly felt a hand wrap around her waist, pulling her towards a warm body. A shocked gasp escaped her lips.

"Shh...just close your eyes. We're both tired and we need the sleep. It's incredulous to try to sleep so far apart in this tent, especially with the cold weather. Body heat will suffice to replace the fire outside."

Hesitant, Alyson asked, "Are you sure?"

"No," his tone made her curious and she nearly turned but was held in place by Lucas' hand on her hip, "It's okay, forget it. Just sleep."

Despite being self-conscious sleeping in Lucas' arms, Alyson fell asleep before she even realized it. Their mingled breaths and body heat warmed up the tent for the rest of the night.

Streaks of sunlight peeped through the tiny opening at the holes at the top of the tent. Alyson yawned and shifted, her legs rubbing against coarse hair on warm legs. A quick glance at her wristwatch told her that it was eight in the morning. She shifted again, trying to gently extract herself from Lucas' arms in the cramped tent.

A strangled groan and a warm hand on her hip stopped her. "Finland, you might want to stop moving."

Alyson turned and was about to ask why when she realized why, or more exactly felt why. There was a certain something hard poking against her back. Oh goodness. This man was huge. Alyson blushed and stayed frozen. The atmosphere in the tent seemed to be several degrees hotter. Sweat beaded between her breasts as both of them stayed silent and tried to figure their way out gently.

Alyson scooted forward to make space for Lucas when she felt his fingers moving up. She held her breath as his fingers brushed the undersides of her breasts under her snug tee. What was he doing? And why wasn't she stopping him? Part of her wanted to push his hand away and be professional but some part of her - the crazier and bigger part - just wanted to flip over and crawl all over him and plant a kiss on him, exactly like how she had wanted to do ever since their first kiss two, no, three days ago. But, would that be breaking some sort of code of conduct with Kensington Media?

Before she could act on any one of her choices, a loud boom echoed through the forest, shocking both of them apart. Leaving the molten chemistry behind, they both scrambled with instinct out of the tent into the open forest. There was some static before Bru's voice rang out with their tasks for today.

"Ladies and gentlemen, there have been several changes to our challenge today. Firstly, the Orange couple, Amanda and Elliot has been eliminated due to the votes of our ever-loving audience and also because they had the second most amount of grapes in our previous challenge. I'm sorry but you will be immediately removed from today's challenge with the help of our crew. May you live happily ever after!"

"Secondly, one more team has been disqualified for breaking the rules of the game! Please understand that we take our rules very seriously." There was brief silence before Bru continued speaking. "By breaking Rule No. 2, no drugs usage; the Yellow Team, Lucy and Andrew, has been removed off the island and handed to local authorities on land last night during the challenge.
