The snake immediately raised its head and launched an attack when it reached about 4ft away from Vivian.

Vivian focused, causing the world to move slowly in her eyes, and she easily caught the snake's head with her left hand.

And before the snake could wrap its body around Vivian, its head was crushed.
"Shit!" Vivian exclaimed as she backed away.
Although the snake was already "dead", its body curled, wiggled and thrashed around.
