"Why can't I, baby?"

Every head whipped toward the sound.

I froze.
My eyes glued to what it saw.

There - standing at the open doors - was Indrani.

White tailored suit, black sunglasses hiding those fire-lit eyes, heels clicking against the marble floor.

Unapologetic. Untouchable.

What's She doing here?
Was she not supposed to be in Mansion right now?

" Bastard Useless Gaurds!! " I cussed under breath.

The camera flashes went insane.
Journalists stumbled over each other, trying to get the perfect shot.

Afterall , media missing a chance? Impossible.

But Indrani here?
She never lies..

" We are not actually married , Ambhreen. " Her voice from 4 nights back striked my ears.

She lied.. To me.. About Our marriage.

But No! That was necessary for her revenge.

That means She doesn't lie unless needed.

But How will she react now? To everything that has involved with her.

I sat back - stunned, concerned, worried - everything crashing inside me at once.

How the hell did she get here?

I thought I had sealed every way out.
I thought she promised she would rest.

But then again -
She was Indrani Dashyant.

No chains could hold her when it came to facing her own storms.

She walked forward - head high, unshaken - as if the world parted to make way for her.

Eyes attached to mine , she walked forward.

I watched her - heart thudding painfully - knowing exactly what was about to happen.
Knowing that she was never someone who hid behind anyone.
Not even behind me.

This woman..
My Woman was built to own every piece of her life - even the disasters.

And this time... it might just drag her down.

I clenched my fists under the table - fighting the urge to pull her back.
To protect her from the ugliness about to hit.

But I didn't move.

She deserved the right to fight her own war.

Yes.
I am her shield whether she wants or not ,
But then , The Shield shall also give the Warrior a chance to fight .

She reached the center, straightened the mic, and spoke - her voice slicing clean through the frenzy:

"This is inappropriate. A meeting or judgment in the absence of the accused? That is not fair."
