Chapter 1 Marcel Styles

Mia's POV

It was early November school and life seemed totally normal. Except one thing that I noticed...

The new kid. I noticed someone I haven't seen before. And not like hey kid I don't know you. But like who are you, are you new here?

I was with my friends Jessica and Melissa. Just hanging out in the morning before school started.

"MIA!!" Jessica yelled.

"What?"

"You weren't paying attention to my story about how the barista at Starbucks gave me a free Frappuccino!" She whined.

"Were you starring at someone!?" Melissa smirked at me.

"Oh uuhhh nooo?" Fuck I totally lied and they know!

"Yes you were!" They both said in unison.

"Fine well um I noticed that one kid over there" I pointed to the kid I never saw before.

"The guy in red?" Jessica asked.

"Uh no um the one with the big brown glasses, brown sweater vest thing, white long sleeves, and dark brown pants, with dimples and nice hair..." I said unsure of myself.

"OH you mean the nerd?" Melissa said in a snoody way.

"Yea him..."

Jessica used a harsh tone "What about him?"

"Um I dunno I-I just haven't seen him before and I was wondering if he's new" I think my voice cracked a little saying that ugh!

"He's a nerd don't pay attention to him" Melissa sneered.

"Yea he's not like us, you're so pretty Mia you and Jake from the football team should be together he's like us" Jessica's words stung a bit.

Jake is pretty cute tho. His jersey is number 26 ahh so dreamy. I'm way too shy to talk to him tho. I wish he would notice me.

OH! I had an idea...I should go talk to the new kid! I won't let what Jessica said bring me down. I don't care if he's a nerd maybe he can do my hw for me or whatever.

"Hey guys I'm gonna go re-aply some more lip stick bye."

"We'll come with!" Jessica chimed.

"No you stay here it's ok guys" I really didn't want them coming since I pretty much lied

"Ok bye Mia" Melissa said.

I looked for the nerd looking boy, I had just seen him over by the oak tree.

Hmmm . . . . .

I can't find him.

Oh...

Ok he's over sitting on the bench reading a book.

Take a deep breath Mia. I talked to myself ugh I'm so weird.

I walked over to him and sat down.

"Hi I'm Mia Jennings, I saw you and I noticed that you're not from here, you're new right?"

"Hi" he shyly said, "um I'm M-Marcel....Styles"

"Nice to meet ya" I shook his hand.

Yea yea whatever classy and what not.

"I'm from the UK. I was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England. But I was raised in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire after my parents divorced."

OH MY GOD HE'S BRITISH HIS ACCENT AND EVERYTHING IS SO DEEP AHHH.

Calm down Mia.

Good thing my thoughts are silent.

He's still a nerd tho ok, I just like his British accent and his hair is quite nice, it's all smooth and brushed back.

"So what brings you to Oregon state? In America? Not to be mean tho just wondering"

"Well I really want to go to Oregon state university. This being my senior year and all might as well get prepared and move early" what a nerdy thing to say oh my god.

"Oh that's really nice you got your future planned out already, but what if you don't get in?"

"Mia, I will get in don't worry I'm pretty smart" yea no shit Sherlock you're a nerd.

Bell Rings

"So I'll see you around? Bye Marcel!"

"Uh suure, bye Mia"
