I pondered what Tank had said and realised I had to get out and find some food before it got dark. I walked up to Tank and asked “ Dude can you give me a weapon of some sorts as extra protection he replied with “Sure man I've got just the thing a scavenger like you needs.” He walked away and came back swinging a crowbar he threw it over to me and in one quick movement I caught and smiled back at him a said “This is just the kind of thing I'm looking for.” He said “hey Ham there's a back pack under your bed maybe you'd want it.” I quickly ran up the stairs and grabbed the back pack .With that done I walked to the door slinging a backpack I found in my room over my back cradling the crowbar in my hands. I opened the door and walked out shouting to Tank “Ill be back.”
I walked up the main road to Hunts village, It wasn't a very far walk but was mostly uphill and there were quite a lot of abandon cars. I was searching each just in there was a hidden treasure that may be of some use to me. I came to one car, I still remember it it was a sliver Lexus with tinted windows as I opened the drive seat doors, the decaying corpse of the driver. He had a bullet wound to the head so I thought he had shot himself, I lowered the body the ground and left it there. Then I reached inside the car and searched around the vehicle for the man's gun. It was relatively easy seeing as when the man had shot himself it simply fell to the ground. Th pistol was lying there on carpet of the car I reached down and picked it up and examined it. On the side it had imprinted on it :Glock 17.” I was delighted with this new find but realised some other people would want it so I hid it out if sight in my backpack. 30 Minutes later I reached Hunts village It was a desolate and run-down at the first sight of it I continued walking and realised that the shows has probably been long since looted of all items of value. I decided my best bet was to search individual houses for useful items. The first few houses were empty consisting only of a few cooking utensils I came along to a house that looked completely untouched , I went up to it and peered through the window and tried to see if there any beasts lurking about, just in case it was an ambush I decided to use the back door. I walked round the side of the house and saw a decaying corpse sat up against the wall the legs been savagely eaten off. I stepped over the body now more cautious than ever. Slowly I edged my round the back of the house I saw a tool shed as I was walking to the back door. As I got closer I could hear scuttling so I held the crowbar tighter in my hands. I reached towards the door handle, I pulled down on it but to my horror it was locked. Now I have a dilemma I thought to myself. I was wondering “ should I risk smashing a window, there was no worrying about the alarm the power had long since and the batteries the alarm ran on were probably dead.” I decided that I needed food and breaking the window was probably my best option at this point in time. I walked a few metres to the right of the back door and found a quite sizeable window. I stood next to the window raised my crowbar and struck the window with some force, Then used the crowbar to rake away the remaining bits of glass. Once the glass was clear I climbed into the window and found myself standing in what was once a living room with couches all huddled round the plasma screen Tv in the centre of the room. I walked through the door leaving the lounge behind me. I then found myself in a hallway. I walked up the hallway wondering where the kitchen might be. I walked for a bit checking each room I found but still no luck on finding the kitchen. I was about to open another door when I heard a scratching sound. It caused me to pause and I started griping the crowbar harder. Then I heard the sound again there was definitely something in that room. I thought about running away and never coming back I was sure something horrible was in that room. Even so I had to check it out I held the crowbar tight in my right hand and slowly opened the door to the mysterious room. When I opened the door I saw something I almost couldn't comprehend. I saw a body lying on the ground. The body was infested with maggots. They were cut scratches and bite marks all over the body and rats were biting the flesh off the body.
