Ashley's POV

I jolted up at the sound of my room's door bursting open and looked up to see Asher panting before he stood up straight.

Ashley : what the hell-

Asher : in the hall! You, we need you!

He says before rushing off in the direction of the main hall and I put on my heels before walking in the same direction soon after. What the hell is he talking about? Is something wrong-

I halted as soon as I reached the hall, my expressions turning blank as I looked at the people gathered together. Our parents, grandparents and a few close relatives and what seems like the same people from Aurora's family. They didn't tell me about this either...?

Edward : oh, here comes our elder twin. She's Ashley, the main commander after the King.

Our father introduces me as I walk towards them and bow politely. A few hugs and kisses we're exchanged between the families. The elders excused themselves soon to talk about the traditional ceremonies and all and the youngesters were left alone except for the to-be-groom and bride.

I was about to head back to my chamber until my eyes met with a specific pair of blue ones that were already fixated at me, making me freeze momentarily. There was an invisible pull, holding me still before I looked away and it disappeared.

The others went to the living room to get to know each other and we followed but we were the last ones to enter, giving us a brief moment to exchange a few private words that I didn't expect to be what they were.

Liam : do you want to kiss me?

He whispered beside my ear making me freeze and my heartbeat fastened before I looked back at him, incredously.

Ashley : why in the world would you ask me that?

There was NO way he could say that me just like that. Given his reputation with me, at least, he wasn't the one to blabber anything, especially something like this.

Liam : pardon me, Princess. In case you didn't notice, you've been staring at my lips all the 47 seconds we stared at each other. So.. my apologies if my assumption was absurd about your 'innocent' act of viewing people your way.

He says smoothly. His tone almost sarcastic as much as excited. It seemed like the idea of me wanting him even in the physical senses seemed to ignite sparks through him. And my ignorance to his obvious remark seemed to keep him on the edge as well.

Ashley : absolutely.

I said, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of being right about his assumptions. That I did, in fact, wanted him. But it was more than he seemed to think of it as. He only chuckled, to my surprise before leaning closer to me and whispered.

Liam : admit it, Princess. You desire me.

Confidence radiated off of his words as he walked ahead of me to engage in the ongoing conversation between the youngesters of both families. Goosebumps were hidden under my dress thankfully. He was right. More than I cared to admit. And he fucking knew it well by now.

We chatted through the evening with everyone except each other. We were both so adamant on not being the first one to initiate our next conversation or rather a proper make out session, that almost everyone around us seemed to pick up on the thick tension swirling in the room, it was almost tangible.

It was dinner time now, we didn't sit across from each other as usual. In fact, we were both at the both ends of the large table. Barely able to hear each other's voices over the few mutters and chit chats of the other people amid the clinking of the cutlery and plates.

The guests left one by one after the dinner, except Liam and Aurora who were held back by the adoration of my mother who wanted to spend more time with her future daughter-in-law to know her better. And just as it was the time for their departure, the weather drastically changed. Thunder and lightning covered the sky amid the dark clouds.

Marshall : oh god.. you'll have to stay here until the storm calms down.

My mom says to the siblings and she heads to the guest chambers, along with Aurora to show her where she'd be staying the night and Asher follows behind leaving Liam in my care. Liam. The office. The unsaid challenge. The air charged up around me as I felt his stare and it took all my willpower to not look back at him.

Ashley : I'll show you the other vacant chamber.

I said walking ahead expecting him to follow but I felt a gentle grip around my wrist firmly tugging me back making me gasp as I stumbled on my heels, bumping into him.

Ashley : what are you-

I was cut off as a gasp escaped my throat when he pushed me against the wall behind me. Staring at me, his eyes intense and almost agressive, a stark contrast to his touch.

Liam : drop this act, Princess. Why are you playing this game with me?

His voice came out huskier, sending chills down my spine. I looked up at him silently for a moment. My eyes and expressions giving nothing away which seemed to make him more impatient and uneasy.

Ashley : I don't understand what you're trying to-

Liam : you do. You know exactly what I'm saying.

I looked into his aggressive eyes with my own blank ones before something shifted between us. My eyes darkened slightly and I sighed.

Ashley : what exactly do you want?

Liam : You.

The answer was way too fast but my response to it was faster. Before we knew, we were in my room, pressed against the door as we kissed each other passionately, pouring all the frustration and longing into it. But soon she pulled away, both of them panting heavily as their foreheads stay pressed against each other.

Ashley : you felt this just now? That's all that I can give you. And all that I have for you, Physical desire. We can meet alone whenever we want and fulfill our desires. So, tell me... Do you agree with it?

He stares at me for a long minute and I was almost convinced he'd deny it. Stay bent over his stupid love for me but his eyes darkened and my heart dropped into the pit of my stomach at his next words.

Liam : I do.

And that's all that was needed before we continued where we left off earlier.

Sorry I couldn't update anymore chapters over the last few days since I started updating my books continuously and as I already mentioned in my message board that there were some issues with Wattpad in my country, India.

But I've got it sorted through a VPN which was suggested to me by a very helpful and sweet friend but still the drafts that I've saved for the story disappeared and hence, I had to rewrite it. I'll try and post soon.
