Power Play (BTS FF)

Ashley and aurora arrived in the living room and gasped at the sight in front of them. Both of their brothers were cuddling each other while sleeping but their expressions were still the one of annoyance.

Ashley : what the fuck did I just witness?

Aurora : weren't they trying to kill each other a moment ago?

They both whisper in disbelief as they move towards them looking closely before Ashley secretly snaps a photo of them like that before clearing her throat making the others look up from their phones and the two of them to wake up too.

They all sit properly seeing her and Liam and Asher sit elegantly, clearly trying to impress their crushes, each other's sisters.

Ashley : um... Me and aurora are going out..

She says brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear unknowingly fastening Liam's heartbeat even at the smallest gesture. But he soon snaps out and speaks.

Liam : wait- where?

Asher also snaps out of his daze and looks away from aurora and runs his hand through his hair to calm himself at her sight as he also speaks.

Asher : yeah where are you going?

Ashley looks at both of them before looking at aurora.

Aurora : to hang out.

She says and Ashley nods confirming it and the others shrug nonchalantly and the girls move out but the other two being the overprotective brothers and lovers, follow them.

Ashley and aurora go to a huge, beautiful garden and take a seat on the ground and they both were looking ethereal in between the beautiful flowers and the sight was euphoric for the two boys making their breaths hitch.

The both girls softly laugh as they chat, taking the boys'breath away and they unconsciously step even closer to get a closer look. Aurora was looking totally adorable and radiant while Ashley looked elegantly charming.

Soon, aurora excused herself wanting to roam around and take in the beautiful sights and Asher unconsciously follows her from a distance while liam is still stuck in his place.

Ashley's hair blows slightly with the air as she sits there in her usual elegant posture, feeling his stare, she looks at her side to see his awestruck expressions.

Ashley : you should close your mouth, prince or a fly might get in.

She comments playfully with a chuckle, gesturing for him to join her on the bench which he accepts instantly. His cheeks turning red from embarrassment and he clears his throat softly.

Liam : I was thinking about something. Don't get the wrong Idea.

He tried to be cold but the slight flustered tone in his words wasn't hidden from her. She just smiles, crossing her leg on top of another before she speaks. Her words are polite but firm.

Ashley : My fiancee and childhood lover just betrayed me not so long ago. So love and marriage is off topic for me.

She says almost casually though somewhere deep inside her heart, it hurt. Liam looked at her with baffled expressions on his face, unable to believe that even the wisest Princess could also be deceived and betrayed. But it only made him see her in new light. Better one.

Liam : People change their opinions more often than they like to admit, Princess.

He says softly glancing at her for a moment before looking away quickly. A small smile on his face accompanied with a hint of blush around his neck. She doesn't say anything. She could read minds anyways and she could clearly see the thousands of thousands swirling around in his head indicating what brewed in there.

Ashley : True. But maybe you'd like to look for your sister first, Prince.

She says smiling as she stares in a distance to see asher panicking about something while aurora laughs shyly at his frantic explanation, probably about following her around like a creep. She heard a scoff beside her and she chuckles.

Liam : this guy is a total-

Ashley : you're both exactly the same.

She interrupts gently as she gets up, walking to the opposite direction from them and Liam immediately follows, as the reality check hits him. Blush creeping up his pale neck as he looks at her walking in front of him, about five inches short and even this small detail made his heartbeat faster.

Liam : and what do you mean by that, Princess?

He says with a bit of feigned arrogance in his tone.

Ashley : you know exactly what, Prince.

The nicknames, the walk, everything in this moment made his heart beat like crazy. Instead of beating around the bush, he stands in front of her with a serious face but the blush on his ear and neck betrayed him anyways.

Liam : I want to court-

Ashley : No.

She cuts him off firmly but not unkind. He stands there dumbfounded and embarrassed for a moment before he sighs remembering her words from earlier.

Liam : I'm sorry. I should've respected your words and opinion. I hope you're not.. hurt?

This was her turn to be shocked by his polite and decent response and even in his head, she could see the genuine remorse for being so forward and blunt despite her wish to not talk about relationships and all. But also the unwavering love that had stubbornly implanted itself inside him. Was it possible to love this soon? Like this?

Liam : princess?

She snaps out of her daze hearing his gentle voice and sees his worried expressions.

Liam : I'm so sorry, Ashley. I didn't mean to hurt you, really.

He says gently seeing her silence while her heart races. He gently touches her hands, squeezing gently in his hold,  urging her to say something. Anything.

Ashley : it's.. fine. I'm not hurt.

She says and pulls her hands back almost hesitantly. He sighs softly but there's still uncertainty behind those gentle orbs.

Liam : are you sure? I-

Ashley : it's not that easy to hurt me. Don't worry.

She dismisses the topic, looking away from him as she tried to understand her own feelings about all this. Why would her heart race? She just met him today and.. she hates love. Right?

Liam : I'll wait for you, princess. Even if you don't want to pursue anything with me forever. I'd wait for you till eternity. You'll have my word.

He says softly seeing the complexed look on her face. He understood exactly what she was feeling and he wanted her to know he wasn't like her ex or anyone she might think of while thinking about every negative possibility. She doesn't say anything nor moves while he slowly moves and stands in front of her.

Liam : I hope we see each other soon but I feel it's not proper for me to stay here when you're not comfortable in my presence, Princess.

He takes her hand gently kissing the back of it as he bows slightly in front of her as a courtesy of goodbye before smiling softly even though his heart broke just a little, seeing her like that but it was still submerged in the newly formed ocean of endless Love.

He took his sister before formally bidding byes to everyone and left. Meanwhile Ashley was still frozen and puzzled. But Asher was on the could nine with how things went between him and Aurora. And maybe. Just maybe the future held the changes in their decisions and the newly brewed love in the four of them.

Or maybe it could turn everything upside down.. the fate is very cruel after all.. only the time knows it's doings and maybe it was not the exact time for anyone to know what the future held for them under its sleeves...
