(Note: After a long wait, much rewriting and dealing with life issues, the new chapter of Ohayou Gozaimasu is here! This chapter is a bit more emotional than expected, and introduces a sort of plot from Ryoko and Junko's past. I plan to write a prequel to Ohayou Gozaimasu that centers on it as well as the start Junko and Ryoko's relationship, of course! Thank you so much for your patience, support, and kindness! It means so much to me, and I very much appreciate it. I apologize for such a long wait! If anything is unclear in this chapter, please feel free to ask for clarification! I hope you enjoy~!)

Chapter VI: Black Dog

"Junko-chan. Junko-chan, wake up."

Ryoko's pleasant voice and the low rumbling of torrential rain pierced Junko's rather lovely dream. The sweet visions soon dissipated and she slowly roused to the older girl prodding her shoulder with a gentle hand. She was a little curious as to why she had been woken up for a few moments, but recalling what Ryoko had mentioned to her before she fell asleep, the amount of rain that was pelting the earth became apparent to her. It was pouring. Judging by the amount of water already present on the ground, it must have been going on for quite a while. Why had Ryoko not woken her up earlier? Junko yawned and stretched her sore limbs.

"How long was I asleep? Are our belongings still here?" She asked, voice still heavy with sleep.

The older girl chuckled a little and fixed a few messy strands of her girlfriend's soft jet black hair. "You were asleep for about an hour and twenty minutes. The downpour started a few minutes ago. Our belongings are still here. I did not sleep so I made sure to look after them for us." She paused momentarily to gesture to her lap which was occupied with the four slightly wet bags.

Junko nodded in acknowledgement and leaned groggily against the back of the bench that was scattered with moisture. Her legs were a bit cold from exposure to the rain. She reached down to rub them. Ryoko did the same beside her before shifting out from under the broad umbrella a little to let the rain drench her face. The younger girl always found it strange that the other would often do this when it rained, but regardless, she could not help but join her. Though freezing cold, it was actually quite refreshing.

"We should probably relocate to a hotel now, Junko-chan." Ryoko suggested once she had ducked back under the cover of the umbrella. "I would hate for you to catch a cold out here."

"Okay. I will help you with our bags." The younger girl chirped in sleepy response.

Working together, each girl hastily split the burden of the bags among each other and both clutched the handle of the umbrella - Ryoko's hand over Junko's - as they proceeded to search for a cheap nearby hotel. They waded out of the heavily puddled park, up onto the wet sidewalk, and across the shimmering street, The dizzying city lights, seemingly amplified in flow and color by the blurred rain, distracted them a few times, but they soon managed to find a suitable hotel averaging a fairly cheap 8348 yen per night. After a quick confirmation with the head figure at the front desk and a few questionable looks from loiterers in the dim, sparsely furnished lobby, the pair disappeared upstairs to get settled into their room.

It was a small room sporting a comfortable double bed with cream-colored covers on the left side, two nightstands on opposite sides of the bed topped by small lamps, a landline phone, and a tiny notepad, a dim floor lamp in the corner, a flat-screen television atop a semi-circle cabinet that was built into the wall across from the bed, a small glass countertop-like desk, a beige lounging chair accompanied with a square footrest the same color, a wood umbrella rack by the door probably just situated there earlier that day, a full-length wood trimmed mirror beside the bathroom door, and a pair of thick dark green curtains bordering a moderately sized horizontal paned window. Three oak-framed picture featuring carious images of landscapes as well as one of Shibuya Park decorated the walls. To the left of the front door branched the bathroom, small and cramped with the usual accommodations; a sink ringed with bottles of fresh soap, a few white built-in cabinets for storing towels and other necessities, a clean toilet, and a narrow, carefully cleaned western-style bath embellished with a built-in shower. Ryoko almost chuckled when she saw the bath. It was unusual for cheap hotels to have such a feature; the last one they had stayed in just simply had a shower.
