** Buggy's POV**

Finally night had fallen. Never before had Buggy been so eager to see the back of the harsh, unforgiving glare of the sun. The heat didn't usually bother him like it had done today. He knew it was more than likely just all in his mind, but he could've sworn the heat had affected his blood somehow, making him hyper-aware of his body. He knew there must be some physiological explanation such as endorphins and blood flow, but it didn't exactly help matters when the object of his desires had been in close proximity all day, and there was nothing, nada, zilch he could do about the attraction he felt for her. Hell, he didn't want to want her. Even that made him irrationally irritable. She wasn't even his type. But clearly his bony didn't get the memo.

Sitting alone now on the rocks, scowling at the reflection of the moon which shone bright like a diamond in the calm surface of the ocean, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the cool night air. It was too bad he couldn't take the opportunity to enjoy the calmness of the gently lapping waves, but that didn't mean he wasn't able to appreciate the beauty of it. Still, the painful irony wasn't wasted on him. How the sight of something so beautiful could also be potentially deadly - especially to the likes of him.

Shit. It wasn't unlike the shitty situation with Amby. It annoyed him further how the unwanted attraction had practically blindsided him, and now its all-consuming nature threatened to jeopardize the clarity of his thinking.

He sighed deeply; exasperatedly exhaling a deep breath of air.

It had been one long mother of a day. Made longer by the fact that Buggy had remained silent in the most part - a feat that wasn't easily accomplished. He couldn't help it. It was part of his personality. He was talkative and chaotic by nature. So having to bite his tongue in order to show just how seriously displeased he was, had driven him to distraction. Having all those shambolic thoughts and opinions rattling around inside his head without being able to give voice to them was enough to make him crazy. Giving somebody the silent treatment was much easier said than done. God damn Amby for making it look so easy.

The impertinent little minx had ignored him so easily back on Alvida's ship when she was mad at him. Now the tables had turned but he'd been struggling to act so coolly towards her. Admittedly it was in part due to her having him all stirred up. Stirred up to the point that his previously dormant libido had roared to life, to the extent of him even proposing  a tryst. A one-off between them in order to rid his system of her. Of course she'd turned him down, and her reluctance to explore their connection further frustrated him beyond words. Beyond all comprehension in fact. He was loathed to admit that he desired her far more than he'd ever desired any other woman in as long as he could remember.

Shit. That was bad.

He was Buggy the star clown. The flashy fool. The genius jester. He was far too shrewd to go figuratively losing his head over a woman. Still, he was competitive, he reasoned. This wasn't simply a matter of him wanting Amby, but rather him winning a battle of wills. He knew she wanted him but was holding back. That made him want her more. He wanted to unravel her. To push her over the edge. To see her come undone in his arms. And knowing that he had succeeded in breaking her would satisfy his ego as well as his lust.

Feeling his mischievous spirits lift, he allowed himself a sly smirk, with no one to bear witness to it but the moon and the ocean.

Yes. He would pull out all the stops and use seduction to try and woo her. He'd dial his lethal charm up to ten and she wouldn't be able to resist.
