The next morning, Brian and some other FBI agents exited the elevator and entered the FBI office in L.A. As Brian walked out, a few files in his hand, he looked over to his left and noticed Stasiak in the next room, talking to Mia, who was sitting across from him, thanks to the glass walls. He walked over to another agent, Sophie Trinh's desk, and used her desk phone to make a call.
Brian: "Hi. This is Forsythe in Evidence. I need Stasiak down here right away to sign some greenies. Thanks."
Once done, he hung up and returned to Sophie to review some of his files.
Brian: "Hi."
Sohpie: "Hey."
Brian: "Okay, I narrowed it down to 50 or so David Parks. What I'd like you to do is run the make and model of each one of them."
Sophie: "Okay, alright."
Brian: "Thank you."
No sooner than that, he noticed Stasiak exit the room Mia was in and enter as he spoke to the other agent.
Brian: "Hey, Tyler, we got a transfer. "
He then stops in front of Mia, who looks up at him, her expression not too happy.
Brian: "You want to come with me?"
In a different part of town, Dom's Chevelle and Y/n's motorcycle are parked outside a shop with the gate slightly open. As the two brothers walk inside, they see a mechanic underneath a car, engrossed in his work. A bit too much so that he didn't notice the brothers walk inside. Without any hesitation, Dom grabs the man's legs and yanks him out from underneath the vehicle, clearly startling him as he looks up at the two brothers.
Mechanic: "Toretto. When'd you and your brother get back in town?"
Dom: "We're looking for a car you did an engine mod on. Nitromethane tank. Ford full-size. Continental tires."
The mechanic shifts his gaze to the side before looking back at the brothers towering over him. While his body language didn't indicate it, his eyes conveyed an underlying nervousness.
Mechanic: "Look, what are-- what are-- what're you two doing, coming in here like this, huh? This ain't your scene anymore, boss. Don't ever put your hands on me again, okay? You two say hi to your sister for me."
He then rolls back under the car he is working on, but before he can continue his work, Y/n yanks the man out from under the car and slams him onto the hood of a nearby car in one swift motion. When he has him pinned, Y/n disengages the hoist holding up a car engine, allowing it to fall before Y/n grabs the chain with one hand, keeping the engine suspended in the air just barely above the man's head, his fear clear on his face.
Mechanic: "A Korean kid brought it in. David Park. It's a green Ford Torino. Please don't drop this on me!"
Y/n's grip on the chain tightens for a brief moment, but he relaxes. This guy isn't worth the trouble, as he and Dom have far more critical things to do right now. Meanwhile, back with Brian and Mia, the two are at a diner together. The tension between them is palpable.
Mia: "Why don't you tell me why you dragged me here, Brian?"
Brian leans back in his seat, sighing as he avoids Mia's gaze before looking back at her.
Brian: "You know they're going to capture Dom. Maybe worse. I don't want you getting tangled up in this. So stay away from him. Same goes for Y/n. Trouble always seems to follow him."
Mia: "That's what you have to say to me after five years? All of a sudden, you care what happens to me."
Brian: "What I did to you was wrong. I'm sorry. It was... it was the hardest thing I ever had to do."
